Weird light I saw in the sky

I saw some weird light in the sky several years ago, and havent really given it much more thought since recently. One night some friends and I were walking to some basketball court to play a little bit, it was probably about 2am or so. We get about half way there, then for some reason all of us look up and to our right, and we see this blue streak shooting down from the sky. At first we didnt give it any thought, but then all of a sudden its path because eradic moving up and down and even backwards it looked like, then went down behind the treeline and that was it. It was quite a distance away it looked like, but anyways, was wondering if anyone heard anything about something like this, or if it is nothing.

I have seen objects move in the way you describe those to be moving. Howeever the ones I saw did not leave a streak. And they were in a group of 3 looked like they were chasing each other, pretty amazing whatever it was.
