Well everyone, for one of the lesser discussed topics, I was looking through one of the other topics earlier tonight and looked at one of the topics with maps of the moon's craters and such, and something caught my eye. I noticed the area of Galvani on the moon looked like the shape of an alien, a grey I'm thinking? I'm not too good with the names of UFO breeds and such.
But you can notice what looks like a large head and the smaller body with narrow limbs. The body itself, depending on the way you look at it, could either be holding it's arms above itself or they could be more down turned.
It could be just be coincidental since there are all kinds of random things that craters can form.

Hmm....that does appear to be some sort of statue-like carving, but honestly I would chalk it up to natural formation.I'm no moon expert or anything, but it seems a bit too mundane to be a piece of "Alien Artwork" to me.

Nice job spotting it though.

I applaud yours, or anyones effort in searching for something, but I have to agree with everyone about to post after me that it's most likely a geological formation.

I believe that any artwork built on such a large scale would symmetrical in appearance. Especially something that large and that is meant to be viewed from above. You could argue that erosion has deteriorated it but I don't think it's very clear at all.

More images from the specific area would be needed, as well as some form of outline for what you are seeing. I would still have to say though that it's merely a natural formation.

Well, here is some more info on the Galvani Crater from what I could find out.
Coordinates
49.6° S, 84.6° W
It's about 80 km in diameter
Can't seem to find much in the way of other images.

You can find it by yourself:

Go to Clementine website from here:
www.nrl.navy.mil...

Menu top left:
Tools Panels
Choose "Lunar features"
Select "Craters D-G" from the dropdown list
Select "Galvani" from the list
You'll be centered on it.
Now you can zoom as much as you want.

Cool. I would be more inclined to believe a former ancient human civilization though. Not to say an alien one may be liable.

Hard to get much detail, considering how restricted the moon viewer is. Not going to get much in the way of things other than location.
