I was just about to go to bed on the 25th october when i saw a bright light in the sky.

I fetched my camera and took some shots.

It appeared to be spinning.

Next morning my friend enquired with the Royal Observatory in Edinburgh as to what was the bright object in the sky, they responded that Venus and Saturn was visible in that area at that time.

Very odd if you ask me.

What do you think?

Could it be... the comet everyone is talking about?

It would really help if you also gave us the location you saw the object from, as well as the exact time the observation was made, along with the position in the sky.

Hi Beachcoma,

I saw it from an area a few miles south of Edinburgh in Scotland.

I noticed it around 0300hrs and photographed it over a period of around 2 hours.

Its position in the sky i estimate to be around (if east is 90degrees) 110degrees and was tracking south.

And yes DGtempe, through my lens it appeared to be spinning, however something just did not feel right.

If thats the case, lol, how come i am the only person so far who shows a clear shot of it. I'm no pro photographer and i have little clue about any the features yet on this camera. Luck i guess? lol.
How come no observatory or pro photographer has produced such a clear image yet.?

Simple answer, they can't, because that was for me to do.

So i did, and i'm telling you it's fake, but i never faked it. I shot a bright light in the sky the looked liking it was spinning.

I don't believe much.

Take care...

Once I get my PC fixed proper I'll run the numbers you posted against my star chart program to see if we can find any matches. For now I'm being lazy...

There are a lot of pictures of it out there. For some reason NASA and Hubble are not commenting on it and very little of it has been mentioned in the news.

Here are some other pics and info on it:

starbulletin.com...

Comet Holmes in now the biggest thing in our Solar System. It started out a small comet that was not visible to the naked eye. Then over night it had an eruption on October 23, 2007 and grew over a million times it's size virtually overnight.

It is bigger than the Sun and 12 times bigger than Jupiter and is now visible with the naked eye. Scientists have never seen anything like this before and it's baffling the communities.

Enjoy the links they are amazing!

I have just had a quick look at the three links you posted, the images shown of comet Holmes are a joke, why?

Of course you have no idea why those images are rubbish, sorry.

But you have to concede that such a supposed major event is being covered so poorly by the major suspects usually associated with such events.

You have to laugh and keep smoking...It's the only way.

It is not a joke I promise you.

Do a Google search on it.

It has a lot of people baffled. It lost it's tail the other day. Very, very unusual.

It's only unusual to those who tend to believe such things.

It's run of the mill "lol" material for everyone else.

I say that quite loosely as i believe not many people are laughing at all about this, i am pretty sure everyone wants this over sooner rather than later.

I choose to laugh about it, it has helped me.
