AT&T feeding private data to NSA?

I think thats been around for a while now. I think they got in trouble in San Fransico for giving data to the NSA.

Yes, I remember this story a few years ago. They all do it as far as I'm concerned. Probably ISP's too!

He even had the guy on last night who blew the whistle on AT&T.

Sorry about the redundant post folks. I was under the impression that stuff like this had been going on for a while, but not as concretely indicated as last night's story.

Nonetheless, I still find it alarming how much people seem to get away with nowadays. I mean, what would it take? Lies about torture, lies about surveillance, lies about everything.

And then the Mike Carona police chief scandal here in california. The guy's indicted on 10 counts (last I heard) of federal corruption. Not only is he STILL in office, he gets to take a 2 month paid vacation to "prove himself" innocent, he got to appoint his stand-in, I mean come on!!!

Seriously, it's like some federal official from (pick your favorite agency) could walk right out in broad day light, shoot someone in the face with a bazooka, have it captured from 20 different cameras and angles, and it would STILL be "alleged".

Which...I guess is why ATS is here...

This is a valuable tool for our masters to use. They need to see how us sheep react economically, and socially whenever they implement "shocks" in to the system. This information gives them an accurate descriptor of how to manipulate the economy and the social norm in order for us sheep to be easily controlled.

This is the FBI/NSA's Carnivore system. It runs software called DCSNet, which allows them to capture HTTP/FTP/Usenet/Email etc.. all at the click of a mouse and remotely. I worked for an ISP in 2000 and our Network Operations Manager was sworn to secrecy about the "red box" that the FBI came and made him install on his network. It was connected directly to our trunk line that all of our backbone was on. We were running off of Time Warner, QWEST, Sprint, UUnet, Level 3, and Broadwing. This has been going on for over a decade now. There are partially declassified documents about Carnivore and DCSNet, part of the Echelon system operated by the NSA.

wow, im not suprised. In response to the video, if they collected data on people, and the data of people they called, does it go farther and look at everyone? where does it end?

Old news really. There are hubs in the united states everything runs through. This info is sorted and picked on as needed by government agencies. There are a few new books out there on the subject of SIGINT intelligence that talks about this stuff. "Chatter" is a good one.


Anyways, look at it this way, if you don't have anything to hide it isnt a big deal because they are looking for terrorists not what porn your looking at or programs you are downloading. There is so much information out there it is impossible to sort through all of it so they only go after important things.
