The global warming fraud will bottom itself out eventually but not before commerce has been taxed and the resulting costs that will be passed onto consumers and hurt low income people the most . But it gets worse some of the people that buy into the global warming fraud want to cut emissions and then they go along and oppose the likes of wind farms being build and Nuclear Power being use.

do you think the founder of the weather CHANNEL is a business man or a scientist?

i suggest people study the science of climatology, understand it and then look at the process of the greenhouse affect and the current emission of greenhouse gasses.

He is a meteorologist, turned business man.

When they can start predicting the weather for tomorrow, I will start believing things they say will take place over the enxt 50 years.

Until then, the theory is just that....a theory, psuedo science at best!

i never believed in global warming but i do believe in clear air quality.

Who knows what bad emissiosn do to golabal warming, but more important, who knows what effects it will have on humans if we keep breathing this stuff.

I'm all for lower emissions but only through the innovation of technology. taxing is a joke.

THE Kyoto Protocol was the work of thousands of bureaucrats, diplomats and politicians. But no one person is more responsible for it than a Canadian named Maurice Strong.

forked tongues.

I liked this quote, but I don't get these people,

Is this s joke?

Strong explained: "Licences to have babies incidentally is something that I got in trouble for some years ago for suggesting even in Canada that this might be necessary at some point, at least some restriction on the right to have a child."

"This group of world leaders forms a secret society to bring about an economic collapse," continued Strong, warming to his fantasy. "It's February. They're all at Davos. These aren't terrorists. "They're world leaders. They have positioned themselves in the world's commodities and stock markets. They've engineered, using their access to stock markets and computers and gold supplies, a panic. Then, they prevent the world's stock markets from closing. They jam the gears. They hire mercenaries who hold the leaders at Davos as hostage. The markets can't close..."

That's all good and well. When gas costs 6 bucks a gallon I think the argument will be mute.

just an observation. last week, thom friedman, the columnist, was remarking that it was in the 70's in d.c. and that he was able to play golf which was extremely unusual for this time of year.

the potomac river froze over regularly during winter. has not done so for a while. last year, d.c. had very little snow. much older people remark that when they were younger, they would ice skate on local ponds that no longer freeze over. there are many anecdotes and observations like these and they are increasing.

the climate is changing. whether it is from us or nature or both, there is something going on. wallstr., while i respcect your opinion, just because you may not be the one to blame individually, we, as a whole should at least take care of our planet. it never ceases to amaze me that our species joyfully fouls its own nest. how many of you have been to a party? ever notice that the room heats up when more people arrive and the longer it lasts?

Agreed. If it's not a line item on a balance sheet, some would say it doesn't exist. But, others might say that's redundant binary logic. They might be right. Regardless, if the climate was effected by bloviations of the type on this thread, then we're screwed.

The subject of Global Warming will always prompt strong and sometimes heated discussion. As the global carbon 'tax' is forced upon us, the discussions will become somewhat more heated as we become more physically involved with it.

For what it's worth, i do agree on climate change, but not Global Warming. I agree that throwing out a plastic bag is bad for the environment, but i do not agree humans are entirely to blame. The little amount of recorded history we have does give us an indication that the earth goes through a natural cycle, and this is a constant event. Do we really think the earth has always been this way? It has not. We do know climate does change naturally, but we have been blind folded by politicians and people called 'scientists' who lead us to believe we are to blame and now we need to pay for it.

In the 1970's we were told the earth was cooling down, and that we should seriously consider placing heaters in the oceans.

Let's not forget this. The human race has a very short memory, and is easily manipulated to believe what it is being told.

As more people become aware of Global Warming through mainstream media, people become more switched on and their brain starts to filter in this information. Over a period of time more events / things take place which are aligned to Global Warming, and people who have been bombarded with the Global Warming message do start to see it as the problem, because they are seeing it for themselves. Within a short space of time, and again through the mainstream media, we all become "experts" on these subjects. The reality is we have become over subscribed to information, to the point whereby we want action. And the politicians are there to tax us, and yes we all want change so lets pay up.

Defination of "Reporter" : Repeater.

Now consider this. What about solar power? What about Tesla's work? What about magnetic's? There are so many forms of efficient power we have on this planet which are suppressed by the powers which control the information which is being fed to us.

Remember the countless people who have created engines to run on water, only to disappear within a matter of years.

We are given very limited technology to work with on a daily basis which we all pay for. Why are we having to pay more for us using this technology, which is inefficient, when the powers that be, know there are much better solutions.

Do not buy the Global Warming story.

I'm not sure if we are causing global warming or if it's just a natural cycle (it could be a combination of both), but one thing I do think is that we are most definitely damaging the earth with pesticides and synthetic chemicals.

When fish are contaminated with mercury, frogs are turning into mutant hermaphrodites and alligators are developing both male and female sex organs... something is very wrong. I don't think that's caused by natural global warming.

And it's not our fault as citizens because it's the government and industries that push this stuff on us. Yes we can educate ourselves and choose not to use a lot of the chemicals that get back into the water supply (laundry detergents, chemical cleaners, etc) but we can't force industries to stop dumping their own chemicals into the rivers and oceans.

"Scientists" have flip/flopped between ice ages and global warming dire predictions based on "sound scientific fact" every couple decades since the 1890's. Now it's "global warming" and the only cure is the global carbon tax---how that fixes it I have no clue, as I am sure the U.N is going to take those trillions of some currency and plant trees in Darfur or something.
Most forget the current emission laws were enhanced and some major ones created in the 1970's to reduce the particulates and gasses causing the ice age that we are in now.
Don't shoot the messenger----we were supposed to be freezing according to "Absolute scientific fact" in the 70's because we were altering the atmosphere to reflect sunlight.
I have no respect for a man who lives in a house that uses more energy than a small town, and has a carbon footprint that bigfoot would be envious of, telling me I need to pay a tax on my little usage to save the planet.
The spin doctors blew that one.

Was it? A scientific fact? We had major scientific organisations accepting this?

Because, from the NAS/NRC report in 1975 we had this:

Climatic change has been a subject of intellectual interest for many years. However, there are now more compelling reasons for its study: the growing awareness that our economic and social stability is profoundly influenced by climate and that man's activities themselves may be capable of influencing the climate in possibly undesirable ways. The climates of the earth have always been changing, and they will doubtless continue to do so in the future. How large these future changes will be, and where and how rapidly they will occur, we do not know.

Doesn't appear to have been much certainty at all, especially when compared to now, with almost all major scientific organisations accepting of the scientific position.

Moreover, the clean air acts around the 1970s were predominately focusing on the effects of pollution on health and the general envirnoment for people, rather than climate.

This is available in Video Format in four parts on youtube. Funny thing is over 31,000 Scientists have said Global Warming is not man made but Al Gore gets a Nobel peace prize on a scam. Carbon Tax Credits anyone???

This page will give you the other 3 in the series to watch the whole interview.

Wow... that makes you uneducated.

Y2K wasn't a scam. There were millions of lines of code re-written to prevent crazy crap from occuring. I was hugely involved with it as well.

Was there overblown hysteria in the masses? Sure thing.

Was it a scam? hardly.
