I think that somehow the Atlantis legend is tied in with the ancient Teotihuacan culture. I would even say that the Atlantis ruins lay under the Caribbean(Bimini, Cuba and the Yucatan.) When the Aztecs discovered Teotihuacan, they were so impressed by the colossal stone temples, that they named the area, "City of the gods." The Native Americans of long ago were a mighter nation than most people would like to admit. If their former empire was still present when the Europeans arrived, this would not be the United States of America we know today.

Prince Zemar, son of King Kron, the last Great King of Atlan, built the memorial at Teotihuacan in honor of that great empire which sank under the waters of the Caribbean. When the Aztecs first discovered this memorial, they were so impressed with its colossal works that they assumed that the gods must have built it and then the Aztecs named the place Teotihuacan-"City of the gods."

In Teotihuacan there is the three mile long Avenue of the Dead with the Pyramid of the Sun being the most outstanding object in the area which has a square base measuring 738 feet on each side and rises 210 feet high. The avenue contains multiple square stepped buildings (miniture step pyramids) spaced in symmetry. Then there is the Pyramid of the Moon with its base measuring 492 feet on each side and its height is 138 feet.

Prince Zemar also instituted the observance of Izcalli for rememberance of the lost country and the countless dead. Izcalli in tradition now calls for the stretching of the children so that they grow up quicker. Since so many inhabitants were lost with the sinking of Atlantis, it was encouraged to reproduce as soon as possible to increase the nation back to its original size.

Now the new king, Zemar reigned long and prosperously. His study of the laws of Atlantis, and administration of justice in a city where his unworthy father was so potent, developed in him a poise of character and genius for statesmanship far beyond his years.
King Zemar's gentleness, combined in such an unusual manner with integrity and firmness, fitted him to become the founder of one of the most magnificent empires of antiquity, of which the Toltec and Aztec were but lingering shadows. The remains of its civilization in colossal architecture and stupendous public works, are the astonishment and admiration of travellers to this very day.

The one original civilization was the mother of the Aztecs, Toltecs, Mayans, Incas, and Olmecs. The source material only mentioned two descentants of the New Atlantis culture, eventhough there were more off-shoots.
