NYC to investigate Giuliani, faulty 9/11 radios

The firefighters on 9/11 was carrying precisely the same radios that had malfunctioned during the response to the '93 bombing at precisely the same location.

Maybe this will be the thing that brings the Giuliani crook down. He knew about this and gave them radios that had never been tested in the field. They malfunctioned, so they had to go back to the old radios that didnt work either.

Everybody makes mistakes, but the circumstances surrounding this is strange.

Biden's line about all Rudy knows is a "noun, verb and 9/11" is true. Living day-to-day in Manhattan then, he made some awful moves as Mayor more often then not. Even having press conferences w/ the masks on was like terror re-visiting -- modeling SARS masks of the time.

He, capitalizing on other people's misfortunes, unless there's more government orchestrated terror, he's done as a Republican candidate and should be. I wish these sort of threads could crossover in Abovepolitics but I think people know he's a joke.

Before all that, he had a clean-up program of Times Sq (as he'll start to use in his campaign) that the Republicans loved, whereas, , locals hated what he did, he'll use 'porn' and 'crime' as a problem of Times Sq but what he did through deregulation was bordering on criminal -- many mom and pop stores shut down because of what he did -- it's like Vegas in Times Sq today. All people from Manhattan know what a fraud he is, freaking Bloomy is better then him.

Lastly, he really ruined the taxi service to in NY, cabbies are livid to this day about his reforms. Changed minimum pricing and did other little moves that hurt the driver(s), Bloomsberg should help them out, he's in a good position w/ some positive things he's done for NY, through charity and treating the city's businesspeople pretty good.

edit: on the thread topic -- the radio issue was reported a lot about then, don't know if there's been threads about it but it's insane that he admits to what happened. Any press of S11, to him, is like good press. He's f'n dumb.

Yeah... sometimes it seems that everybody who runs or is trying to run the US are the worst kind of people...

But we are at a changing point in history right now. I can feel it... I dont know what the future is going to look like, but things are going to change a lot in the next few years, probably starting with the crash of the US economy.

THey should investigate the FDNY and the NYPD, not Guilaini. They are the reason that the radios were never fixed. Do a little more research and you will find the pissing contest that they had jsut after the 93 bombing and they never worked it out. It is the brass not Guiliani.

The FDNY were issued new digital channel radios in April 200. After
a series of problems where the radios suffered interference which
one case blanked out a desperate MAYDAY call they were withdrawn
and the old analog radios given back out. Another problem is that radios
don't work well in steel frame buildings, especially deep in buildings
(aka stairways). Following 1993 bombing Port Authority installed
repeater antenna in the buildings to boost signals. The crews who entered
the North Tower found that the repeater system non operable. In the
Naudet film can see chiefs attempting to make repeater work. The
antenna cable for the repeater was supposedly strung in the elevator
shafts. Since the elevator shafts in North Tower took direct hit from the
plane and burning jet fuel poured down the shafts possible the repeater
cables were destroyed. Repeater system in South Tower functioned as
should.

Maybe should do some research rather than posting dumb remarks....

The fact is it was a disagreement between the departments about which to get, so they got different ones. The repeaters were installed but does not allow different radios to communicate, just extends the range in the tower on its own channel.

This is nothing but a smear attempt on guiliani. This is a good place to start researching.

Funny, i thought the fire department were being silenced (don't ask me for evidence, i can't use my memories as factual testimony until we figure out how to do mind-reading) in order to keep them quiet over the specifics of the crash at the pentagon, among other things.

This 'radio sabotage' may indeed have nothing to do with Guiliani, but there is a good purpose behind this enquiry - We can find out not who was responsible, but who wasn't.


I dislike the methods however.

actually, after the bombing in 93 they wanted to make sure that everyone had the same radios. Since Guiliani came into office the next year they want to pin the fact on him that they were no prepared since he brings up 9/11 and how he held NY together afterwords.

There is a book called 102 minutes that I suggest you pick up for some good reading on 9.11 that is not bias.
