I always imagined something terrible happening on Halloween; but nothing really happened other than getting a stomach ache. I think it is great that we live in a society were people can go around at night and do this. Unfortunately, I am confused as to the motives behind Halloween today (marketing?) or even much of its history. How does candy and princess/werewolves make a Sacred Evening anyways?

I don't have any decent tales (except for pumpkin smashing of course)!

Halloween stories anyone?

My best halloween was when I was about 10 or so.
I remember when halloween ment trick or treating from 7-10.
Not this noon to 1 b.s.
And I went as one of the guys from men in black I think.
Well we hit all the houses at least three times by running and it was a big neighborhood.
Needless to say we had 2 pillowcases full of treats, except for the old dude who thought a quarter was a good treat, and we set off to eat as much of it as possible.
I probably went through about 1/2 of my pillowcase in one night.
To this day I am shocked that I don't have diabetes.

I remember those days. Forget the baskets.

Noon to 1? Must be new.

We use to live next to a yard of mansions. It was rumored they gave out huge candy bars. Our conquest was not so successful though... they must have gotten tired of everyone knocking on their door all night.

Trick or Treating is during the day, so no kids get taken away.
