I have had some 10 posts/topics ruined because for the first, ATS never works anymore, and for the second, it doesn't have a memory-bank for when you hit back and return to your message!

Please, can someone explain why?

Quit yer whining.

ATS is very stable for a site of this size and varied content, we deal with a large number of threats on a daily basis and deal with them effectively, you are a guest here and please remember to act with manners when complaining.

A memory bank would tangle up valuable resources, if you're concerned for your posts then save them to a text file.

I would chance a guess that its thanks to that new virus Mydoom clogging networks when trying to connect to the site. Give it a few days and it should clear up once admins get the situation under control. I remember the same thing happening a few months ago when Nachi was causing all kinds of havoc on my ISPs network.

Yes, a few technical difficulties today.

As far as your browser not showing what you had written when you click 'back'. Thats to do with your browser, not ATS.

To dreamrebel: My computer is fine. My high-speed matches with most T1 services.

To Kano: IE has worked for things like this before..

Nerdling: I'm sorry to have sounded rude, I just get very angry when my posts get lost, because if I say things, I say lots of things, generally 1000-1500 words, and I just don't want to type that again.

And I knew about the memory using valuable resources, I couldn't help but say it though, sorry.

The reason I bring this up is because the server was down yesterday for an hour or two, it was down a few days before, it was down this morning, and pages load about 40% of the time.. Once again, it isn't my net, I have other browsers with other pages open, and the rest is fine.

I know I'm a guest, but I heard something about an explanation for overbugginess in RATS, so I was wondering if we could hear about it here.

alternate: That makes a lot of sense, the virus could be messing with my ISP..

I don't understand your question.

When you make a post, if you hit "back" it won't show as it takes the information from your cache, stored on YOUR computer. That page that it opens is the one that existed BEFORE you made your post.

So hit the Refresh button to see the new thread with your post on it. - or go ctrl F5 to refresh as well.

You may be on a network where the old page is stored on the webhosts server and you are not accessing the updated one. (some of the penny pinching hosts do that)

Ctrl F5 should force the web server to get the new post and then pass it on to you.

It seems that the problems are at your end, please elucidate if I am wrong.

ATS doesn't give me any problems, outside of the hacking stuff of course.

My system runs like greased lightning. No stalls or disrupts. Just thought it might be your computer. No insult intended.

"Life", as with this site is an ever-evolving elevator and one always filled with "ups and downs".
Dealing with it? Adapt to change, be it good or bad, nonetheless, it is a temporary thing.

ATS will undoubtedly return to stability.....natural probability is on 'its' side.

I find it good to type out any long pieces of text into word before copying them into a post. That way you won't lose it and you can also do a spell check before posting too.

ATS is real stable....except when we're getting the smuckers slapped out of us by little snot-nosed brats with no lives.

And notepad helps if your browser won't work right.

I normally write into a Text file and C&P it into the board. Of course the one time I forget to do it, the board went down and I lost the lot. That'll teach me, I suppose.
