Photo Reveals Secret Dig Beneath The National Capitol

I found this while browsing its a picture of a secret dig udner what could be the capitol building.

Tell me what you think is going on.

Well Zak...the photo shows some type of construction.
I do not see any big piles of dirt or ANYTHING suggestion a 'dig' under the bldg in any way.
AND ~IF~ it was secret why is it in plain site?

because it was never released to the public. and why would they be searching under there. are they looking for somthing hidden/>?

Now, all this renovation was done some time ago. But it gives you an idea of the structure of the white house and of work done in the past. There is a vast sub-level of the whole building.

Nevermind. I swear I read White House instead of Capitol Building. My mistake.

I see dirt, being dug out from under the capitol building.
My guess would be they are trying to add a stronger foundation. See the pillars under the capitol building? Yeah, migha want something a bit stronger, not to crack on the pillars.
I used to live in Virginia, a stones throw from the white house (well, for the bionic man, anyway) and would go to the Lincoln memorial often. I remember years ago, down by the restrooms, they had an observation window looking out over the pillars under the Lincoln Memorial, just as we see here on the Capitol. It was a dark dank place, for what light was let in on them, but they closed the window years ago. Makes me wonder what they're doing THERE!!

Since its all built on a swamp,maybe its easier to have pillars? Dunno. But good pic!
