Looks to me like he didn't take his own words into consideration. Another post I made some time back was by another on the Hill that also stated Iraq would be trouble for the US. Just wanted to post this info for those who may not have been familar with his comments.

It is just too bad this was not circulated years ago.

"not very many" American soldiers' lives were worth losing to take out Saddam during the Gulf War.

They're not, huh, but I take it these lives are worth it only after 9/11? Almost seven years after...

The following link provides a number of comments by Cheney, go ahead be different, decide for your selves.

Yeah, I guess PNAC and the closed door energy meetings convinced him otherwise.

9/11 was just the overt justification to put the covert plan into action. Now we are nearly on the brink of national bankruptcy and dissolution. I wonder if that was the intended outcome all along.

And they have the nerve to call themselves patriots and parade around with their flag pins on their lapels. In the immortal words of Bill Clinton to the 9/11 Truthers, "How dare you. How dare you!"

In life you have to take your opportunities and that goes as far the global stage the US missed the boat in terms of removing Saddam in 1991. As for Cheney flip flop well repaying the current admin corporate backers is clearly more important to him then peoples lives and the strategic direction of the War on Terror.

I watched that Clinton clip with him saying "how dare you" to the guy saying 9/11 was a inside job. What came to mind was Clinton lying in front of the entire nation with "I did not have sex with that woman".

They said hypocracy would be everywhere in the end times... they were right.
