World's smallest radio

news.bbc.co.uk

They used it to transmit classical music wirelessly from an iPod to a speaker several metres away from the music player.

Full details of their findings will be published next month in the American Chemical Society's Nano Letters.

"Though we have only demonstrated the critical component of the entire radio system out of a nanotube (the demodulator), it is conceivable in the future that all components could be nanoscale, thus allowing a truly nanoscale wireless communications system," they write.

this has a lot of potential,
bugging someone with a micro radio that can transmit and receive audio signals,

and unlike current bugs they are Made of carbon nanotubes a few atoms across which would mean easier concealment. so they wouldnt find it (well not that easily)

i know this is a radio, but its been said it can be done to send aswell.

Sounds pretty cool.

A thousand times smaller than a human hair!?

Think of the possibilities... no more iPod, no more cell phone... etc. etc.

Oh wait... a new surveillance tool.
Christ, when do we get a break.

This nanoscale technology is really cool, the possibilities look endless.

Well everything has a good side and very bad evil side.

They already have an I-Pod "Nano," and if they use this technology, I guess we can assume we will never find our mp3 players ever again!

Oh (blank)

Now they can get these things in everything, they will have these little things in products, that will 'talk' to the other products in your house, and all the little RIFD chips will talk to this little guy and then this little guy will send signals to your PC and then the goverment knows eerything about you, what stuff you have and what you are saying to your friends...

this is some scary (blank)
