Is clocking avaliable

Has any one invented cloacking yet, because it seems possible. I notice then when i watch movies about sci-fi stuff or with advance technology in it some of the stuff seems to be based on real stuff. Like in the new james bond movie the cameras that make the car invisible, i read somewhere that the government is making that technology.

i read that post, but that dosent seem like it is very effective cloacking.

i dont think cloaking in the way they do it in star trek is really possible

stealth is certainly possibly and they are workin on much better forms of it though


invisible aircraft are also possible, they are workin on smart skins right now that basically make the aircraft invisible to the naked eye

I believe those dudes at Area 51 have already been there! done that! There's lots of times I hear something in the skies above, but do not see anything.

the defianition of cloacking is the abilty not to be seen.
in this since and vage discription yes we have done this the apatch can not be detected on radar because of the odd angels of the crafts disinge. so to speak but no Star Trak is still the movies right now,and bond still is like "OUT THERE" but they have to use some technical stuff that ppl can relate to and scripts are writen to catch peopels attion haow eles can they have a multimillion $$$ movie.

Toltec, the Philidelphia if it happend, was an experiment with the results of quantum tunneling, not cloaking.

Cloaking is possible, but impractical. I can hide behind a rock, who cares about cloaking, we can still detect the presense of something as long as it disturbes its surroundings.

Cloaking would be a very fine mirage, just a bunch of sensors/plasma screes and they recieve light on one end, a computer with all the points of the plasma screen cells would compute the best place to "send" the same amount of detected light, as if the light were not disturbed by an object.

It's very impractical, but that's the only way to do it. Unless we find a material that would take light on a prescribed path before again releasing it at a known destination blah blah...

Actually the computer controlled video "cell" suit seems quite plausible. But the image would be distorted due to loss of resolution, much like in Predator.

Is Cloaking Available ?

If you are talking about "Visual Cloaking", the answer is Yes, it is available. Visual Cloaking is a matter of Optics, and Electro-Optics and this technology is well understood and several applications of it are extant and new ones are being developed.

If you are talking about the Star Trek type of Cloaking then the answer is No. Star Trek type Cloaking is concerned with several types of Physics; Opical , Electro-Optical, Heat Radiation, Atmospheric Disruption-Compression, Audio, Infra-Red & other "X" type radiation.

That is not to say that our "Black Project" scientists are not working on it, they are. However the problems are much more complex then a "simple" Visual Cloaking.

Is Cloaking Available ?

In regards to your request for examples; The DOD's DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) has an electronic camouflage "cover" for use in disguising tanks.
The "cover"is essentially an electronic blanket that can be draped over the tank (when needed) and utilizes thousands of fiber-optic buttons with each one acting as both a very small & precise television camera AND a plasma receiver.
What is done is to project the image that is obtained from directly behind each of the plasma receivers(as it is received from the corresponding tv camera in "back") onto the corresponding plasma receiver. Each "button" acts independantly but in concert (computer corrected) with all the others to present a moving picture-view as if the tank were not there.
The cost of such an electronic camouflage (cloak) at the present is horendous; $225,000.00 each. Of course as technology refines the techniques and/or this device is produced in quantity, the price would go down.

Certain aircraft(primarilly ultra-high altitude surveillance) have a much simpler system that disquises the bottom of the aircraft, to match the existing sky. Blue, White Gray or Black) This system requires much less electronics and has been in place much longer.

DARPA has many cloaking-camouflage projects under research. It must be remembered that as the cloaking technology improves, so too does the discovery-penetration technology.

Since they "bend" light (yes I realize that's not actually what happens), it seems that you could somehow completely cover an object with the ends of the optic on one side, and coming out on the other side, exactly opposite. If it completely covered the object, then (other than some haze from the ends of the tubes) it would almost be like looking through the object, from any angle, and thus, invisible... Just a thought, is all, total theory...

The computing horsepower and bandwidth to support such a concept is well into the super-computer category.

This has to do with a manipulation of matter via quantum shifting.

what about the philadelphia experiment- diverting light making it invisible but they could still see the shadow(excuse me i'm not the best at explaining things)

You may remember my post in regards to the availablity of "electronic cloaking" which was posted on
this site on August 12, 2002. You asked me for "links" to back-up that post and I had forgotten where I had read about it.

You seemed to feel that such a scientific feat was not within the range of our present knowledge. Someone was kind enough to "point" me in the right direction and I would offer the below link to add to what I posted back then.

I've heard elsewhere one of the messageboards in the past about the ability to capture video of one side of a plane, for instance, and project it on the other side too. So if you're looking at the plane, it will appear to be invisible. (See picture below as example.) I did come across this article the other day though about japanese scientist making a "invisible cloak".
