runetang,

Just for the record, I would really enjoy hearing your thoughts if you decide to participate in an interview. It was on this board a year or so ago while I was researching Arius for an entirely different topic that I realized I, too, am an Arian christian. I had not studied the history of Arius and the division that took place surrounding his beliefs until that time. But upon researching him and his beliefs, I found where what I believe was cut from the organized church and it's dogma.

From my point of view, because of your "denomination" (if you will allow that label for the purpose of distinction) you have a great deal you could share with other believers to educate them on the importance of what occurred, and the impact it had on christianity. I don't find myself qualified to do that other than to say - I believe as Arius believed.

Wow, thanks for the kind words. I am astonished, a fellow Arian Christian! You are the only other one I have known of who actually claim it as their point of view. Many share the same viewpoints of Arius and do not even realize it.

Had Arian Christianity gained prominence instead of Constantine's version, Christian-Muslim relations, as well as Christian-Jewish relations in the world today would be excellent, because Arian Christians do not claim that Yeshua, Jesus, son of Mary, was God incarnate. This is the focal point of difference between Christians and Muslims when it comes to Jesus' life and who he was. This obstacle would no longer exist.

And same for the Jews, they'd see it as admitting that Jesus was not God incarnate, a personal victory for them and their theology. Hey, whatever makes them happy..

But I betcha anything we'd be throwing snowballs instead of grenades..

Yes, I understand what I am confessing.

Paperclip, a Muslim member here who I haven't seen post in quite some time, was kind enough to share with me the Muslim view of Christ. He/she explained that Islam teaches that Christ is the prophet above all prophets, and that he was the son of God. No other prophet has ever had that distinction. And that he was imbued with the spirit of God and given exraordinary authority from God. When Paperclip shared this with me I said - dang! you describe the true nature of Christ better than any christian I've ever met!

Then later I researched Arius and his fight for the truth and his ultimate murder.

I am an Arian Christian...and I'm proud of it.

Runetang and Valhall why on earth don't you do an ATS mix show together ?
You both seem to share the same beliefs so such an idea makes sense.

Duckster, PROVE TO ME THAT THERE ISN'T A GOD

I'm not going to prove there isn't a God. It is part of my faith that he exists.

SINCE IT SEEMS TO BE YA'LL, ATHEISTS, WHO SEEM TO BE SCREAMING THE LOUDEST WHY NOT PROVE WHAT YOU ARE SCREAMING

Firstly, I'm not Atheist; never said I was ever.
Secondly, the only one doing the screaming right now is you. There really isn't any need of that. Everyone's talking in calm fashion in here.

.... Yeah, that's what I thought.

Thirdly, what is it that you 'thought'?

Well I am not sure if Valhall would want to do it, but i've been down since first hearing about it, and gave my info to the show organizer.

The excuse according to this thread is that not enough people replied, so even though 2 guests is enough for 1 show, 2 guests apparently isn't enough for a show which is supposed to sort of be a series on the viewpoints of faith.

Go fig.. I guess MM and MIMS are so Charismatic! that they were hand picked by the mods for a personal get together show! How nice to give one end the mic, and not the other end.

Well all I can say is that I would never subscribe to belief system that relies on faith rather then evidence and rational thinking. I am however willing to listen to the likes of Valhall and runetang talk about there beliefs on an ATS Mix show.

what is God? What is Life? What is a soul? The most important question of all, do they make you happy. If you answer yes, then you are allowing outside influences to guide your reality, and therefore you are not God, alive, or have a soul. If you answer no, then you realise that happiness accurs with and when the craving of one self are denied through the realization that they are not pertainent. Through this you achieve happiness, then know that there is a God, a soul, and are alive.

Wise man say, man with hole in pocket feel cocky.
