Mag 4.2 Earthquake Rattles East Los Angeles Basin

www.myfoxla.com

A magnitude 4.2 earthquake hit San Bernardino County early Tuesday, sending judders across the region.

The quake occurred at 1:53 a.m. and was centered about three miles north of Wrightwood, a remote community about 80 miles northwest of Los Angeles, the U.S. Geological Survey said on its Web site.

The quake was strong enough to wake people as far away as the north Los Angeles suburb of Glendale.

It was not immediately known if the quake had caused any damage or injuries.

Earthquake tremors come in bunches and California is way over due for a big one. This has me worried as this could just be the initial jolt.

Here is a great website for keeping tabs on earthqaukes worldwide in realtime.

"Judders"??
What the hell are judders?

Tremors don't always come in batches and these smaller earthquakes can be relieving the pressure that could otherwise result in "the big one".
