Terror Exercise Is All Set To Blast Portland

The bomb's in place. The terrorists are ready. The city waits.

As of 9 a.m. 10-16-07, a lethal cloak of radiation will cover much of downtown Portland.

It's all make-believe, of course. But this week the city will be ground zero for the largest counterterrorism exercise in U.S. history.

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff will be in town to personally oversee the exercise, with the help of Gov.

Anyone know why so many exercises have occurred in Portland?

Well, Portland is the 3rd most populated city in the Pacific Northwest, so you've got a massive amount of people and infrastructure, but it's also out of the way of major government centres, which is good because it presents no threat and/of confusion to them, and also tests long range communications.
Plus, of course, Portland apparently has more stripbars than Las Vegas, which is probably the main reason for the exercise being staged there, anyway.

Anyone with a camera, get out there and take photos!

EDIT: No, wait, that came out wrong. I mean to say, take photos of the exercises and such. Uniform, weapons, responses, etc.

Portand would be a good place to test martial law, NW has alot of rouge thinkers, and the hills East of I-5 are loaded with survivalist. I wondered if this might be a cover for a sweep of a few of the choicer targets up in dem der hills. Also Oregon has more suspected detention camps then Washington according to the 'out there' web sites.

But that is a long shot, who knows what really goes on, it could just be a test to prepare and condition civilians and military for a day when martial law is needed/declared.

Does anyone have any information of activity of the regional concentration camp.. err.. prison camp.. err... emergency centers in that area? Any increased activity? A road watch would be an interesting endeavor.

Sheridan - Federal prison satellite camp northwest of Salem.
Josephine County - WWII Japanese internment camp ready for renovation.
Sheridan - FEMA detention center.
Umatilla - New prison spotted.

Good point from one of the posters, anyone in the Portland area that could
take some photos for the site? It'd be 'interesting' what they got going out
there, bio-suits everywhere I imagine. . . .

Well I bet they're doing that since a few years ago Oregon authorities found an active TERRORIST TRAINING CAMP in the rural eastern side, completely isolated...luckily for all the scum were all captured and sent to GITMO!
