So we have the American Cougar and the American/British Mastiff (even though both were designed by the British). Visually pretty much the same vehicle but surly their must be some differences?

So could someone educate me as to what is the difference between the two versions?

Thanks

Mastiff is considerably up-armoured compared to cougar. It is fitted with anti-spall armour (to reduce secondary fragmentation) and has Bowman communications kit fitted. It also has standard British ECM kit as standard.

Edited to add - It also has the standard British Army upgrade of the worlds most aggressive and professional fighting troops. This is probably the most useful upgrade to any fighting vehicle

A quick google search found this pic of a Mastiff VvVvVvV

www.defenseindustrydaily.com...

As you can see it has lots of armour unlike the Cougar.

So your trying to say that pic is a fake

Nothing has been edited on that pic, to think so is quite absurd.
Do a google search for your self mate.

That's because the plate isn't on the mast but on the turret behind it. It's a trick of perspective not image manipulation.

There are three mastiff Variants now. 1 2 and 3.
One and two are pretty much the same vehicle except the second has seats better designed to take a blast and the top cover has ballistic plates. The three has more head space and a little more width in the back. The biggest difference though are the driver and commander doors open on them. The mastiffs don't have the ballistic windows along the sides either. Not sure about the set up of cougars but the mastiff has slab armour along the sides too. The mastiff has an air con unit with a little removable air filter underneath where you can fit three or four bottles and keep them cool too. Not in the instruction manual I don't think but Works a treat in the heat.
