Albuquerque police officer charged with rape

ALBUQUERQUE — An Albuquerque police officer accused of raping a woman while she was in custody has been placed on paid leave.

I'm usually one of the first to jump on police abuse threads, but in this case I think we should wait for an investigation. For all we know, the woman could be making this story up. Then again, it wouldn't surprise me either to find out that the allegations were true. At this point, it is one person's word against another's, and more evidence is needed before passing judgment.
