Anyone catch the first episode of this former Showtime sci-fi program, Odyssey 5?

It stars Peter Weller (Buckaroo Banzai, Robocop), and has a fine supporting cast. Weller really brings a lot of credibility to the show and looks to be in great shape at age 60.

Though the show only did 14 episodes, with an additional 5 done broadcast two years later, it is quite engrossing. It seems to be a combination of computer hacking with an Invaders theme of possession, but here the invaders are AI.

It's airing on the Sci-Fi channel on Fridays at 8 EDT.

The only downside is that being a Showtime series, it contained some nudity and mature language which will have to be edited out.

Yep, I caught it last night on the Sci-fi channel. Thank you for posting that it was a Showtime series. I'm not familar with it so I thought this was a Sci-fi original. I'll continue to watch it as it is one of very few series on that channel that interest me.

Any chance for the story to continue past the 14 episodes or in book form?

I enjoyed the heck out of Odyssey 5 and I am glad that the Sci Fi channel has decided to rebroadcast this show.

The tragedy of the 2nd Space Shuttle disaster was what did this show in... a totally unique premise and interesting characters. I am dvr'ing it to watch at my leisure.

What the....

I was just getting into this show then the Sci-fi channel pulled the plug after the first three episodes. Did they move them to another time slot?
Anyway, according to Wiki, the 20 episodes are out on DVD.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrr........................................
