Good find ArMap

It gives a bit more hope for the quality of photos they will release once they actually focus on the moon instead of on their own equipment.

I am not sure how to actually post the pictures directly into the post, but in the link below (one of the pics supplied by ArMap you can see an Ankh shaped "structure" / area that is pretty much right in the middle of the picture. That area in particular has some pretty interesting features. I wish I could figure out how to paste it in there highlighting what I am talking about. Hopefully you can figure out what I am saying.....

There are also some very square items next to the ankh as well as a line that forms a right angle. I just find it a very interesting location.

I don't see any ankh shaped structure, but I think I see the right angle line that you talk about.

Is it that area that I marked bellow?

The PDF indentifies that crater as Schrodinger.

I think I was checking out the page when they were updating it since there is info that I just looked at this morning that wasn't there last night. The press release link is working today.

Those new pics sure make me think the Moon is a rough place to land with the way the craters look. I am glad that we finally have something new to look at.

Yes, the right angle is in the upper left hand corner of your circle and it actually makes up the right arm of the Ankh. Above the right angle you can see two "domes"/craters that are side by side forming the arms. Above those you can see another dome/crater inside a horseshoe shape which would form the top of the ankh. The bottom of it would be formed with the 2 domes/craters coming down directly below the left arm.

I hope that makes sense. Thanks for circling the area in question.

SNOOP RULE #1

Save Everything... you can always trash it later

Rule # 2

Look back in your temp folder or link history. If you viewed the original chances are its still in one cache or another..

What do they teach you 'kids' in 'school' these days anyway?

Why is the PDF file I looked at gone?

But they give us silly pdf's with embedded images .... low res photo's (even if they are from a camera used to monitor the equiptment.)

if its video feed, then publish a few minutes of footage i'm sure we would all love to "have a ride" around the moon.

I see that they are using some of nasa's ground based recieving stations, can we trust what they are showing us! i would like to think we can ..... time will tell.

I have a real problem with PDF files being used to give us "sneek peek" photo's its kind of keeping us at arms length from the real images dont you agree zordon !

The images embedded on the PDF are links to the real size images, at least on that Japanese PDF.

Psssttt They are under contract from NASA to keep us all in suspense... They learned from the masters how to keep us guess and then they will trickle out a few sanitized photos

Exhibit A

Kennedy Space Center, Fla., July l992.
Richard H. Truly, NASA Administrator, and Professor Jun Nishimura,
Director-General of Japan's Institute of Space and Astronautical
Science (ISAS), signed the agreement on behalf of the U.S. and
Japanese agencies implementing this cooperative activity.

www.nasa.gov...

Just do a google for "NASA JAXA agreement" toss in Russia, Canada and ESA into the mix...

All one big happy family

*sigh*

Guess we'll have to keep to keep our fingers crossed the Chinese will be more forthcoming.

*whimper*

Well, we can hope.

There's always our team with the telescope, mentioned on this thread: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Isn't that supposed to happen in November?

The first problem with the telescope angle is it can only do half the job, the funkiest side is the farside in IMHO and of course unless you have a telescope that can see round corners it's blind.

A large observatory telescope is ideal but how many people have access and when you do you have to pay for the time you use it.

Weather is another linchpin regardless of the size of telescope you are using and we know how vague the weather can be.

Video scanning seems to be a good idea but again how long have you got a clear view of your subject.

The ideal would be to use hubble to keep a continuous eye on the moon as it is not dependant on the weather and atmosphere, but that aint gonna happen.

I don't like to play the damp squib here but as you can see telescopes are very limited.

Rule #1
Act like you aren't doing the job right to throw them off
Rule #2
Mention rule #1 to give them a laugh...

I haven't heard anything from Colorado Springs so that means one of two things, they haven't looked or they can't talk. I'll bet on laziness.

With all the equipment on this bird it should be able to give us some great imagery. Seeing agreements with NASA gives some people the opportunity to get to this info before it is released or unreleased info, hopefully, so I will keep asking about this until I get a definite answer. I also can't check on this from work since i'm blocked, something that i'm not happy about.

Besides that these "camera phone" pics are better then nothing. I guess beggers can't be choosers.

Hell yeah I want to see a smoking gun. Who wouldn't. Unfortunately, there is nothing in this mission that will satisfy those who are hell bent on believing blurry moon photos are something else anyway. So, if the "smoking gun" are clear pictures of areas of the moon where these ignorant claims such as "bucket excavators", etc, are located you will only here that crowd CRY cover up.....because they have too much invested into their delusional fantasies. However, if on the other hand, those areas show us skeptics clear evidence of nefarious actions we wont scream cover up or cry, we'll gleefully jump for joy that we are more advanced than we think we are, and that if some of the moon tripe going around turns out to be true...well it opens up the possibilities that A LOT of other stuff could be true as well. Thats the difference between those of us with common sense, reason and logic and those of us that blindly believe stuff "because they want to".

Now everybody sit back and wait for data from this mission to pour in before jumping to some of the ignorant conclusions that have been posted within this thread. (yes I said ignorant....look it up before some of you U2U me telling me I called you stupid)

LOL well no, actually if you could show me clear undoctored photos that show 'nothing there' I would have to put my thoughts on hold... no 'delusional fantasies' here... I just don't see its going to happen

However, if on the other hand, those areas show us skeptics clear evidence of nefarious actions we wont scream cover up or cry, we'll gleefully jump for joy

You perhaps I would believe this from... I seriously doubt many of your 'fellow sceptics' would follow suit... well not willingly without being dragged kicking and scream....

Personally I do not understand how anyone can look at THIS photo of the Asteroid Eros taken by ESA and not see the "smoking gun"

What's it gonna take?

It's interesting, particularly that rock that sticks out so obviously in that little crater. But I'm still not exactly sure I see why it couldn't just be a blocky rock. Why couldn't it?

Something like that asteroid, with low gravity and no atmosphere might attract rocks like that which won't be buried by impacts, and won't wear away. I don't know, man. It looks good, it's interesting, but it just doesn't quite make that connection between possible rock and aliens, you know? Oh, well.
