Ufo lights over mount Olympus

Hello, I will transfer to you a personal experience of an eyewitness in Greece that spotted and manage to photograph 2 strange unidentified lights over mount Olympus last year in summer.

The date was 29/7/2006
The time of the above photograph (stored also in the file's header from the digital camera) is 10:39:46 am, local time ofcourse.

eyewitness story:

On 29-7-2006 we have arranged with my essay professor (who was the second eyewitness but didn't pay much attention to the event) to go on mount Olympus to collect some tea. I am a resident of Litoxoro which lies in the mountain's foothill. When we made our first stop (near the area "livadaki" in a slope northern where we would rest in order to begin our descent) for water&lunch and looking downwards I observed something very strange. The whole area was suddenly surrounded by clouds and I could spot 2 small lights above the horizon over the mountaintops. I immediately used my photographic camera that I was carrying with me and took two photos one good and one bad-blurred (I was in panic and rush.. you see a regular man don't see every day 2 stray flying lights and so low over the mountaintops!)
The lights didn't seem to move, they were statically hovering over the mountain and they lasted about 40seconds-1 minute before they were lost from my eyes either because of the strong fog or someother reason. No sounds also.

This sighting made me search about it very much. I asked local people who know the mountain if there was a case of the lights being warning beacons for low-flying airplanes and they answered me negatively.
Moreover I asked if they were airplanes and the answer was: "so low and statical?" Then I thought and observed that the two lights where aligned almost in a perfect straight line. I am not a specialized ufologist neither fanciful by nature, and not ofcourse sure about what exists "up there". I am saying this because I have a genuine question about what I have seen and not a thesis.

This is a findedge filter over the 2 lights photo in order to find maybe some pole or antenna below the lights. I can't see anything in this photo except maybe a 3rd object over and left, from the left light. In the original photo this 3rd object seem like a dim dark spot so maybe its a jpeg artifact maybe something else.

This is a photo taken almost half an hour earlier in the same exact direction (with no zoom). 10:03am
As you can see the sky is very clear in this photo and there are no lights.
Also if you compare this photo with the UFOphoto, it proves that the lights where hovering lights over the mountain and not lights on the ground of a far mountaintop.

This is an animation comparing the first good and second bad photo taken 16 seconds later.
As you can see in the second photo the left light is missing. This proves atleast that the right light is static.. it lies in the same position of the first photo.

Ufo general activity and stories about mount olympus.

The Ufo activity over mount Olympus is very interesting with frequent reports in the past. Many ufo researchers go to mount Olympus only for a chance to spot a ufo!
The military presence also is quite strong in Olympus area with a large military base operating in Litoxoro.
There are even stories about a secret base there of the late G.Giolvas, who was a nuclear phiscicist, a super-plasmaweapons inventor and ,according to his testament, a member of the legendary "Group Epsilon".

Above is a third good-sharp photo taken 36 whole seconds appart from the first photo with the 2 lights. (10:40:22am)
The fog is getting thicker, so it was quite difficult for the 2 eyewitnesses to keep track of the lights.

The lights remain in the same position, static. Maybe some minor movement of the left light.

It is important also to note that there was no helicopter or airplanes sounds reported during the stay on the mountain.

I have no way to tell if these lights are actually UFOs. As you said there is a military base near there.
If UFOs are really hovering over the mountain Olympus then this is interesting. Lets not forget that Olympus was considered by the ancients as a sacred mountain where their 12 Gods lived. Their Gods is believed to have a close connection to the so widely spoken Planet X.
Anyway hocus pocus, speculations and connections to the year 2012. I was just curious why they are hovering over this mountain and tried to figure it out by trying to understand why mountain Olympus can be significant to them. If of course UFOs are truely hovering over this mountain of course.

The lights were stationary the whole time... even in the animated sequences you can see they never move..
