Historic Meteorites Auction in NYC

There is a full-page AD for this today (10/8/07) in the NY Times. Some excerpts:

"The crown portion of the most famous meteorite in the world -- the Williamette meteorite...."

Another highlight is the 1400 pound meteorite discovered in a wheat field in Kansas in Oct 2005..... largest oriented meteorite w/ naturally occurring gemstones known to exist."

"Several specimens of the Moon (3) will be available..."

The photo of the 2nd aforementioned isn't on their news site but the rock itself is pretty incredible, even in black and white. It really looks odd/colourful.... plus there's a ruined mailbox from the only known meteorite strike. Pretty interesting.... www.bonhams.com...
