Atlantic City's mayor is missing.

New Jersey's casino town has been in turmoil since embattled Mayor Bob Levy got into a black, city-owned Dodge Durango last week and skipped town. No one has heard from him since.

"It's crazy, man. The mayor is MIA," said City Councilman Tim Mancuso. "It's not that we have poor leadership - we have no leadership."

I know nothing about the politics of elections or even who these people are......but, if I`m reading this right, this is significant. It may show the real fight for democracy I`ve been waiting for.

I saw on the news they were saying that 3 out the last 6 mayors are serving time for corruption if I remember correctly.

Also brought up is the fact that noone could get in contact with his defense attorney.

I am sure this guy will surface in the near future.

Strange activities in AC for sure.

AC is a mess mired in corruption up to its eyeballs. Ever since the casinos came in they have been having huge problems with corruption in the Atlantic City government. Something like half of the city council was arrested by the FBI last year on corruption charges and 4 out of the past 8 mayors have been arrested on corruption charges as well.

"Atlantic City has become, `Do what you want, when you want,"' said Jim McDonell, a retired truck driver. "There's no professionalism or competence here."

Pretty much sums it up perfectly.

Governor Corzine made his way to Atlantic City in an effort to calm things down since the mayor up and left.

The mayor's wife said that the mayor was in a hospital. She would not say what, or where.

Now the one-time home of Miss America is in the news for all the wrong reasons again; its mayor has gone missing after being caught embellishing his Vietnam War record.

Mayor Robert Levy told aides on September 29 he was taking sick leave, and verbally transferred authority to city official Domenic Capella in a move that members of the city council say is illegal. Levy has not been heard from since.
