Am I the only one who thinks the continued "homosexualization" of the American male may be serving a purpose?

In all seriousness, if these shady figures in the government who we all know are trying to enslave us really ARE trying to enslave us, what better strategy could they have than taking the MAN outta the men in this country?

Don't get me wrong, if you are gay, I have absolutely NO problem with it, so long as you allow me to be straight without trying to work your voodoo on me (joking! well sorta) and as long as you don't feel the need to constantly remind the rest of the world that you are gay just for the sake of attention (ie: gay pride parades).

However, it seems you can't turn the television on these days without seeing at least a few gay guys. Sure, it's to be expected if you are watching the fashion channel or something along those lines....but you can't even watching a bunch of guys build a house or work on their cars without the focus of the show being on the 3 or 4 gay guys that lead the crew. Not only that, but have you ever noticed that these gay guys are ALWAYS being swooned over by a bunch of HOT HOT HOT women.

I'm starting to think it's all some form of subliminal neutering for the straight male population.

Am I the only one that remembers when a guy would be verbally TORTURED for making pink a major part of their clothing?

Also, maybe this has only happened to me, I've actually been in bars with friends and overheard female friends of mine wondering why their boyfriends can't be more like a gay male friend of theirs. Am I the only one that finds the hilariously ironic?

According to society as a whole, it's almost a CRIME to be a guy these days. God forbid you actually have a temper or not care about the wrinkles in your t-shirt.

Just in the last few years, I have noticed a HUGE difference between males of my age group and older (27+) and males between the ages of 16 and 24 or so. I see some of these guys that primp in front of a mirror more than any girl I have EVER MET.

Could this possibly have something to do with them being inundated with and compared to the tremendous amount of gay men in the mainstream today?

Sure, this theory may very well be a bit of a stretch (which is why I'm posting it to the SW), but it would certainly make sense. It certainly would be easier to slowly sissify the men of the country than it would be to kill them all.

Think about it.

DISCLAIMER: I have no problem with gay men and ,like every straight guy, find most gay women to be AWESOME. I am also not trying to say that this is some sort of attempt by the gay population to turn everyone else gay. If this theory were indeed true, I would be surprised if any gay people were pulling any of the strings. I find absolutely nothing wrong with being gay as long as you don't go out of your way to rub it in someone else's face. Any homosexuals who find themselves reading this thread, please forgive if I have offended. That is not my intention.

Now hold on a second, let's not restrict this the the American male because exactly the same forces are at work in the UK as far as I can tell.

Like you, I have no problem with gay men, (other than the use of the rather coy and foolish word "gay" itself), but I do have a problem with the camp effeminate homosexual stereotypes which are forced upon us at almost every turn these days. That act passed the point of tedium a long time ago so for the love of God just drop it please or at the very least try not to look so shocked and offended if it irritates people.

There can be no doubt that the middle aged, middle class, able bodied, white, heterosexual male is the only real oppressed minority in our society today. Criticised by every other social group for his perceived intolerance and blamed for every ill in society he is now the forgotten subclass, the minority with no minority status. (I think I might try and apply for a Government grant).

Simius, we must stand together on this, (in a manly kind of way you understand), and free ourselves from the shackles forced upon us by the cruel might of the coalition of the false minorities.

Sorry for leaving the UK out. I have never been there so I didn't feel I had a right to speak about what goes on there.

I agree we need to stick together insofar as being men and not feeling bad about acting like men.

George Carlin actually did a VERY good bit of the "CENSORED"ification of the modern male. I would recommend listening to it if you haven't. He makes one particularly good point about the sissification of males by giving them pansy names.

Why only American males? And let's just get right down to it and state that no one can be "made" gay, "programmed" to be gay, et al.

Perhaps you're confusing homosexuality with S&M?

Are you saying that gay men are less "MAN" than straight men? LoL. Sounds a bit like stereo-typing... That's actually so far from the truth it's really not worth arguing about.

Isn't it a bit arrogant to assume that you're so drop-dead-gorgeous that every single gay man would be interested in you? Sorta like women having to cope with you working your "voodoo" on them all the time?

And what about all the other parades? Americans have a fourth of July because they're pretty much proud to be American, right?

Actually there has been gay characters in movies and on TV since the beginning of film. And it goes back to the time before film. There has been gay characters in books, in paintings, sculptures, etc. etc. They just weren't so openly gay in early TV, and hugging/kissing/relationships were a big no-no. These days it's on TV/movies because it's no longer frowned upon (supposedly).

And then there's the "politically correct" issue. A couple of years ago you would've noticed the "token black guy"...

Perhaps there's something to learn in this? Like that most women like men who take care of themselves, who listen, show emotion, are just plain decent, etc? And women aren't sexually "threatened" by gay men. Or there's the legend that women want what they can't have?

Neutering, from the Latin neŭter (of neither type), is the removal of an animal's reproductive organ, either all of it or a considerably large part of it. It is the most drastic surgical procedure with sterilizing purposes.

Oh boy! Don't you think there's a big gap between showing gay characters on TV and cutting off someone's genitals?

Oh it's still done in some parts. But most places, like big cities the men has moved out of the caves and into brick buildings, they've stopped hunting with sharp sticks and they're no longer frowning upon the colour pink.

See above why women like certain characteristics homosexual men have.

No. It's great to be a guy. And it's not a mortal sin to care about your appearances. It is a mortal sin to be obsessed with your appearances. Not all gay guys are obsessed with the shirts on their backs. Let's not stereotype.

Just how many girls have you met, and how many of them have you watched get ready to go out?

No one's comparing them. There’s the one program "Queer eye for a straight guy", that uses the stereotype of gay style and good taste to "fix up" the stereotypical "tasteless" straight male.

Gay men aren't "sissies". And if it's true, then it isn't working because every second straight man is complaining about it - while I think some people's sexuality just feels a bit threatened...

Yeah, it is kinda curious that you would notice all the gay guys on TV...

Sigh... Yet another "gay conspiracy" thread... How quaint. And it's always gay men. If I was a gay woman I would definitely feel discriminated against. Not to mention the whole a-sexual and bi-sexual population...

'Yeah, it is kinda curious that you would notice all the gay guys on TV'

Just to butt in on that point it's been the trend since the last decade to have 'camp' esque male presenters on television as they have family audience appeal due to their mannerisms.

No offence meant to Americans here but some of your news guys are the cheesiest corny dudes on the planet with their huge fake smiles and hammy one liners but hey that's what the audience wants to see, Someone smiling and happy with what may call over the top gestures.

I haven't said all men on TV are gay or because they are camp they get their jobs before anyone jumps on me thinking i'm making an attack obviously their is a line and it is easily blurred just because a guy is generally a happy and pleasent guy on your tv don't make him gay lol. I'm just making a comment on my observations.

I think your reasoning may need some work here, dude. IMO, it takes a REAL man to be gay. Why? Because anyone who is openly gay runs the risk of being raped, beaten or at the very least humiliated by "men who have no problem with homosexuality". If you have no problem with it, then why are you bothering to author a thread based on your concerns/fears of the govt trying to "turn you" gay? It's not a disease, fella, it's a state that 10% of humanity and animals, yes animals, is born into it. You can't catch it no matter how hard you try.
You wonder why all the "hot" women like gays? I'll tell you why. Because gay men aren't insensitive jerks, for the most part, and don't make sexist comments or stupid homophobic comments.
My husband is as about as male as they come, but feels secure enough in his masculinity to decorate the whole house with flowers he himself picked and arranged in a vase. He does it simply because they're beautiful and to make both of us happy. He loves gay women, not because he gets turned on by the idea of 2 women making it, but because he respects their independence and because he can be close to them without feeling that he has to constantly prove his manhood. Straight men who have fragile egos and even more fragile concepts of their masculinity inevitably feel they need to prove their manhood by imposing their will on women, ignoring their feelings, humiliating them or making them feel stupid in order to prove their superiority. You do know that men have female hormones as well don't you? Same with women, we have a few male hormones as well. Thing is we all have feminine and masculine traits but it's only the men who doubt their own masculity who keep needing to "prove" it by belittling the feminine or women in general. This kind of thinking leads too many men to become misogynists (anyone who hates anything feminine, mostly women in general).
My husband had a 25 year sexual romance love affair going with a woman who I absolutely didn't like and the feeling was mutual. When he got together with me 4 years ago, he figured he would have to end it. Sad, really, because they genuinely love each other. I never made any rules about it because I knew he would do the right thing, whatever it was. We did the right thing and invited her to our wedding. She vacuumed, swept and worked hard at helping us get ready. Today we are good friends, I love and respect her and I have no problem with my husband continuing to visit with her once in awhile and spend the night with her. I'm not threatened, he loves me way too much and I don't have one bad feeling about this arrangement. I'm OK with it because he respected and loved me enough to let me make the decision about all of this and because I know that men like him are all too rare and I feel he is his own person and will make good decisions. I don't own him. In turn, I am free to also have these kind of outside relationships, though I haven't because there aren't many men I would like to be with, why eat hamburger when you can have steak?
My point is that when a man is respectful and sensitive, he in turn gets these kinds of rewards from the women who love them. I consider that Queer Eye is helping straight men to feel comfortable enough to show some of their feminine side. The result is a heightened sense of self-esteem for the guys, who have gone on to start their own businesses and change their lives for the better, which includes improved relationships with the women in their lives. A recent Queer Eye show hosted a party for their 100th episode and all 100 guys showed up and talked about how much better their lives were due to these 5 Fab men who really care about the guys they're working with. The men's wives and families were there to cheer them on. Men don't have to be cavemen. The ladies like men who aren't afraid to express their feminine aspects.
Straight men could learn alot from gay men.
