Stand Up and be Counted

Alright, the time is now America. Soldiers are starting to disobey orders, i've been waiting for this for a long time. This blog will appear on many websites around the world.

"For the people, by the people." thats what this countries foundation is based on. BULL #! The people of America are slowly haveing their freedoms taken away. That kid being tazered was a good example. People should not be in fear of there government. The government should fear its people.

Now is the Time. I am proposing a full revolt if things don't change. Do it for your country, do it for your children. Do it because it's what we have the right to do. Our government officials don't give a # what we say and the president cares even less. Its time to install a new government.

You want the Iraq war over? It can be done. Want a better life? It can be done. If we, the people of the US, stand up to our government as a whole and say "NO!" they have to listen or fall. I will probably be comfronted for posting this but who gives a #. If I don't say it who will. Whats the worse they can do? Kill Me! whop-de-#ing-doo!

Come on people stand up and be heard. Tell your co-workers, friends, and family. Put down your cowardice, pick up your banners and flags. We fight for our future. We Fight for our lives. We Fight for FREEDOM!

Ok I'm not one to say, "Oh well this guy has less points than another so he is nothing." But come on you have 7 points total... Why am I not to suspect that you are a government agent taking names on suspected terrorists...

The time may come, but proposing such an idea on this site is not only dangerous... well like I said the time may come... but coming to a wet forum and saying these kind of things are not going to make a difference. It would take a lot more than that to cause any sort of a revolution. And not to mention what is the reason to rebel again?

OP, I gave you a flag and star (even though I have no idea what that will do.) I agree with what you say but i believe it will take more than flag waving to get our point across. I have said it before but let me say it again.

We need to all STOP working. everyone. shut the govt and the economy down. we need to tear down everything and start over from the basics. I know, i know. I'm going to be flamed for this but, hey. I think its a better idea than marching in the streets with a banner and a flag.

P.S. Yes, I am a black man, living in NYC and no I do not want to start a racial tirade. I am just trying to give perspective. All the freedoms that you fear losing, I lost a long time ago. All these alarming feats of brutality and outrage, I have suffered first hand or have witnessed with my own eyes outside my front door. This is my reality and it is not open for discussion as it is the life I live everyday.

You sir, are a stellar example of a TRUE American. You will stand and be counted, and say what you mean in a very concise manner. That is very appreciated. With what little you've told thusfar, I can only imagine what you've experienced. I wouldn't wish oppression on anyone, and that's why we should all make it our solemn obligation to fight against it anytime that we see it.


To the OP:

Others have already said most of what I was going to say, but I'll throw my $0.02 in anyway. When an armed revolt becomes necessary, ALL will hear, and ALL will know that it's time. When will that time be you ask? When the People get so sick of being oppressed that they take action. That may take some time, as the majority of people are comfortable watching American Idol and going to work to try and make REAL change on this Earth of Ours.

Can we make a difference? You bet your ass we can. Will we? That's another matter that remains to be seen. To be fair though, revolutions are waged everyday, just not on the scale, nor in the same manner that you suggest. We CAN take back what's rightfully ours without violence, just if everyone would stand up and tell those that we elected to protect us that we've had enough of their BS! Don't be too quick to rush to violence. It's time that we learn to get past that ancient form of (d)evolution. If they continue to not listen to us, THEN we can justify further actions... but not before.

I implore all that read these words to think about what they could do, no, what they HAVE done, to directly impact the world in which they live. If you haven't done anything, then maybe you're waiting on someone to pick up the torch and lead. Don't be ashamed, as we all need leaders. Just know that when that leader rises, and you follow, that you take upon yourselves the same burdens as the leader, and will accept the same fate that Your leader does.

While I support your general idea, unfortunately a full scale revolt is not going to start itself, no matter how inspirational the message. Without ousting the current leaders from power, true change cannot be obtained. For this, you need organization and resources. Additionally, to unite people you need a plan to run things once you have won. It's not enough to say "we demand change" without specifying exactly what it is you want, how you intend to get it, and what happens afterward.

Again, I support the idea of change, but any successful plans will be years in the making, assuming the American people have the will to do anything in the first place.
