NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Government safety officials and manufacturers recalled 544,000 China-made toys and other items Thursday over concerns over lead paint.

The actions were the latest in a flood of recalls this year, and federal regulators expect more to come.

Is china trying to poison us with lead paint? Some might think so. Are there really this many products with lead paint coating them or is this another US conspiracy?

What if the US is just trying to damage China's economy by putting a scare in us americans? Christmas season buying is gearing up and the govt knows parents will try to avoid buying products from China if they think they might be recalled later.

Ya know, I was just watching CNN and saw that more recalls were announced. It made me wonder that it might just be the US trying to manipulate China's economy. In the last month, I've seen a few threads with news regarding China holding a lot of our assets and supposedly holding our economy in their hands. Could this be one of the strategies the US is taking to keep China on the "up and up", so to speak.

It's probably all true and also it's a tiny fraction of what is imported. The fault lies with the US companies which have piss poor quality control. When I was working in a factory in China we had inspectors every other week.
