Have you ever tried to convey information to someone and he wouldnt listen? Sure you have. Happens daily on ats. Now what if the "secrets" have already been revealed thousands and thousands of times but fallen on deaf ears and mind-filters? Think before re-posting.

That assumes they were revealed. And I understand your comment, I wont simply trust "their are no secrets" Just like you wont accept secrets are bad.

secrets are important, regardless of your perspective. loose lips sink ships.

Secrets are important to protect the agenda of those who hold the secrets. So if masonry just said they keep secrets to help themselves at the cost of the rest of society it would be clear. If they have no secrets then people could go into a ritual or a meeting just like any other organization.

didn't christians have to keep their religion secret before it was mainstream? Even to this very day in China many people have to keep their Christianity a secret. Same in the Middle East. If someone wants to convert from Muslim to Christian, they pretty much have to do it in secret.

Under yourlogic, all of this would be to "protect the agenda." That's fine and all, but you seem to be implying that "agenda" carries some kind of negative connotation. The America Revolution was planned in secret as well, for obvious reasons.

The idea of being a Christian in secrecy is an interesting topic. I agree many today, and long ago hid their secret of Jesus Christ. Although at the same time Jesus asked Peter about why he denied him, when Peter did this very thing three times. So it is a personal decision.

Very well put, it is an assumption what the agenda is, but who it is keep secret from can point to that. Maybe the secret is to protect the world from something or some nefarious other group only they know about, or we don't know they appose.

You have a valid point, I guess I just think that the statement that the secrets have no agenda is false, so if they chose not to reveal them that is OK, but it does lead to lack of credibility.

I do not have the right to tell others what they should do, I can decide what I do, and decide who is credible based on actions. This whole thing started on comments of credibility of those in secret groups.

I also would think a British soldier interviewing a known revolutionary about the subject of the revolution should also realize the responses have a credibility gap. My original point.

It is in the spirit, not in the body. I without claiming to to have the only interpretation of it, can speak a little about it because it is not secret. If I am wrong, or others have ideas of its meaning to them, they can speak on it also, for none of it is secret.

i can agree with that, especially since you are not assuming the morality of either side, which was my original point.
