The]is seems the usual hostile response to someone with a different viewpoint. My dear jpm1602, I did not say that there were no ETs, I personally
belive the Universe is bursting with lifeforms ranging from the very simple, to very advanced. But I recognise that as my own belief, since the
evidence to support ET life visiting the Earth (a different thing entirely) is decidedly slender.
As for determining the odds on life in the Universe, there is no sensible way to really calculate it- until we know the complete story of planet
formation and how life came to be on the Earth, there is no way of putting sensible figures into a statistical entity like the Drake equation. Is
life a natural consequence of solar system formation, I strongly believe so, but again that just that.
Let me clarify: Proof of Alien life or even visitation would not send me into a tailspin. I eagerly await that happy time, should it happen. ET can
visit my observatory at anytime- he/she/it is most welcome!
It's rather a pity you didn't ask for my views rather than just rush in with the attack.
Whether one likes it or not, it is true that there are a large number of people out there who will quickly assign any Unidentified Object as alien.
Morestill the people who churn out the same conspiracy theories again and again. I feel this does do a great diservice to those people who take the
time to investigate a UFO report seriously, as I do when a member of the public reports them to me. Finding a rational, real explanation 9 times out
of 10 is not a crime.

-Paul.
