Shirley Phelps-Roper and the Westboro Baptist church

I have recently come across a women named Shirely Phelps-Roper and her church or nearly 100 followers and their spewing of hate. I do believe their 3 websites explain it all:

Also youtube.com is chock full of her and her "church".
This woman and her family and her "church" are most vile and inane. I believe it is people like her that give Christianity or just religion as a whole such a bad wrap. I did not really want to advertise her and her awful beliefs but I feel I should use this more as an eye opening experience for people to see that their are some awful people in the world that defame religion by using it for such an evil cause. however, haven't you ever checked the places they cite for evidence of their beliefs?

they are theologically a sound group, their beliefs are just as sound biblically as any other christian sect.

honestly, what makes them more deplorable than the book they follow?

It seems to me that they decide to pick and chose excerpts from the bible that they agree with. I do agree with you in the case as to how that makes them differ from any other religion. I am also appalled as to how they go about soldiers funerals by saying protesting them and applauding their death and thanking God for the Virginia tech massacre. I also didn't know this subject was touched upon prior. Again in a way I regret posted about it because its more publicity for them.

You need to further check out these fools they are doing it for media attention and the media is givong it to they also they recieve money not to protest so religion has nothing to do with these people

Yes this is the first time I heard about them. It makes my skin crawl that there are people out there like this. I am not naive I am just hopeful that not all mankind is like this. Ya, know? It's sort of discouraging

After checking many sources about Shirley Phelps Roper and her church I have to say her and her family just like hearing themselves talk. It doesn't madden me as much anymore but it does sort make me shake my head and laugh a little. Its so repulsive its funny.

Yeah it takes a little empathy to deal with these folks.. IF anything I feel sorry for them. They miss out on the most important thing in this life.. Its called LOVE And they dont have much of it to go around..

And you dont need a church, or some deity to love.. LOVE is within us all if we manifest it.. But many people in this world look over the simple things in life that money or gems can not buy..

That makes sense, maybe daddy should've have hugged her more and damned her to hell less. Thanks I am new to the site so I don't know what U2 is...well except for the U2 with bono in it. Lol but thanks for youre input.

living in KC MO, but working in KC K. I hear about them all of the time. They are of the calvinist thinking and still adhear to dogma.. simple as that. Hate is in them that is for sure!
