I would be very careful accusing the police of deliverately spraying the baby here. We only got one side of the story, so how do we know that the guy wasnt using the kid as a shield? And why was he so close to all the commotion with a baby? I mean none of us were there so how can we assume things happened this way?

By the way I am not condoning over excessive force nor sticking up for the police here

My words exactly! People are so quick to jump on the bandwagon. Yet again we have no idea what REALLY happend except from the so-called victim. I seriously doubt that it was a debliberate attack on the baby.....

Yeah, because all police ,en/women are souless robots with one mission to hurt people. You seem to think that all police men/women are in on a massive conspiracy.

police officers are sworn to uphold the law and follow orders like the military has to go where the president points without question. its not that i think they are robot but instead most of them are true believers in the BS they brainwash members with.

i have yet to see this legal system deal out proper justice

they say justice is blind well maybe its time to take that blindfold off and see things for what the really are hypocritical and absurd!

OK, next time a serial killer or child murderer is roaming around the streets, why dont you ask the police to step back and you go and hunt them down. Next time theres a huge riot where people are smashing shop windows, looting and flipping cars over, we can send u in and see how you would deal with an unruly mob.

Yes thats what the police are for, stoping people from breaking into your house not spraying babies in the face

they are suposed to protect the people not control them
just think back to the last time you were driving and a cop car got behind you how did you feel did you feel safe or did you feel threatened?

Well what about protecting there own well being? And what idiot holds a newborn in an aggresive confrontation with police? Seems to me as if he was using the poor kid as a shield

Once again I dont condone the actions the police took this day and in reality no one but the people that were there on that occasion know what really happened. We only got one sides account of the story

Wow!!!

As a person who's spent a significant amount of time fishing and hunting in nothern Manitoba and Ontario, I find all this outrage comical.

I have personally just returned from a fishing trip in northern Manitoba where the First Nations currently have roadblocks set up to protest the selling of crown land. We had to stop and sweet talk our way through with a case of beer or it was backtracking for 4 hours. All worked out fine, but let me tell you, if your standing on First Nations land and they are armed, the last thing you want to do is piss these people off.

Now back to the topic.

1-Has anyone asked why a young child was at a protest to begin with?
2-Were there armed protesters?
3-Did the protesters obey the RCMP's crowd control commands?

Canada has had incidents that have resulted in deaths before concerning the First Nations people, so I have a hard time believing some corrupt abbussive RCMP officer decided to spray a child knowing the result could have been very violent indeed. As I stated above, I have spent alot of time in these areas and can tell you from first hand experience that the First Nations people can be very intimidating to the average joe, but they can be down right hostile to RCMP officers, which is due to residual hatred over previous incidents.

So lets all take a breath and wait for the facts before the police state rants go any further.

I thought the whole episode was over kids riding in the back of an open pickup truck after some game or other.

Back on topic?? Dude, you are so far off topic it's comical. Did you even view the video? There was no protest. The only weapons the crowd had were medals and trophies (which i am sure they must have thrown at the cops), I am sure the kid didn't want to go but was forced to, you know how it goes these days. Perhaps they wanted to throw the kid at the cops? Crowd control commands? For a few kids etc on the back of a truck? Man it sounds like the RCMP should have had a few F15s out there, perhaps a tank or two and a couple of attack helicopters JUST in case they threw the kid! If that daiper was full and exploded on impact MAN imagine the pandemonium. They would have had to declare marshal law!

Actually the video link didn't work for me when I first tried it, so that ansewers your question.

As a side note however, I would call 75 people gathered around a traffic stop, yelling at the RCMP, a protest. They all could of went home and minded their business but they decided to stop and protest. I think the video clearly shows that. Also it is moose hunting season right now and I would be willing to bet at least one vehicle their had hunting gear stowed in the back.

I felt threatened, even though I know I'm doing nothing wrong. My heart jumps in my chest and I feel panicked. It scares the hell out of me, AND I KNOW I'M DOING NOTHING WRONG.

Well all i can say is i find it hard to believe, generally most news is scripted nonsense.

There is no real news anymore, only the agenda.

Just a bit of advice, take it or leave it. I would be very careful with what you say on here or any other forum. The laws that are in effect now could call you a terrorist just by those statements and have you arrested.
I am not telling you what to do or say, just trying to help you out here, hoping that you were just blowing off steam and would never commit a illegal act like kidnapping an officer or stalking and threatening them. Think before you type.

WOW! I'd take my chances with a thousand crooked cops before I'd want you on my side! Think for one second about the fact that you are advocating violence against people based on the actions of other members of their profession.

I was not present at whatever event occurred in the video that my computer wouldn't even let me watch. I don't know what occurred in that particular situation. What I can say is that events like this make for much better news than when police do good things. Sensationalism rules the news media, and it is much more exciting to report on brutality than heroism.

I am not a police officer, but there are many in both sides of my family. Most of our family friends are also police officers. I have heard a few stories about corrupt cops, but I have seen and heard more about the good that has been done. Police officers have families, too. When they go out to do their jobs, they expect to return home safely. I used to cry and hold onto my dad's leg to prevent him from leaving for work. Thank God he retired and went to law school.

It is never okay for a police officer in the US, Canada, or anywhere else to abuse their authority and hurt innocent (and I mean INNOCENT) people. This incident should be thoroughly investigated by the RCMP or whoever is in charge, and appropriate actions need to be taken based on the investigation. Advocating going to the homes of "pigs" and making some disappear... YOU DISGUST ME.

I am very grateful for the many good cops that have helped me out when I've needed them. I've never feared a police car behind me, unless I knew I was doing something wrong. For God's sake, if you think you know so much about what cops do and how they should do it, join the police force.

Accident or not, the police officers should be fired and charged with assault with each person that was pepper sprayed. It was unprofessional to pepper spray a group a people that majority was children. What go me mad was the baby that got sprayed, thats shows carelessness of the officers involved.

My very big question to the officers,
How was the children was a threat to a armed police officer?
Cause they are bullies that pick on defenseless children for kicks
cause they know that cant do anything back or they go to jail.

THE POLICE ALWAYS WONDER WHY PEOPLE HATE COPS, CAUSE OF THIS CRAP HERE!

Serve and protect is compete bull# with police officers anymore...
Justified my ass, thats just bull#.
