Yes this is of a great concern to me, and it should be to everyone. Unfortunately, it is going to get worse before it gets better. It used to be
discriminating cops who tortured and beat people they hated, whether it be hippies or a different race. Now, all over the news you hear of a death by
taser from a cop, now children are being mased. When we give these people any power, they go crazy with it. I dont know if a majority of cops are good
or bad, but theres enough bad ones that there needs to be something done about it. Their superiors might be the ones who make tell them that using
excessive force is ok, because there is no way they are actaully scared in situations like this. There is always backup for them, they have guns and
tasers and mase, and any real man would not tase an old woman in a wheelchair, even if she was brandishing a knife (I cant remember the site with the
article, but an old lady was going crazy at a relative's house and had a knife, and they tased her to death). If, or when, the uprisings start
happening, it will take more than just a few people who have the courage to stand up for our freedoms and what is right, because when it happens,
they, being the GOV, is going to put it down swiftly and effectively, and make an example out of the dissidents, who they will call "terrorists" or
"threats to national security" or something completly backward like that. But, that does not mean that we should give up and concede to them, even
though they have more men and more firepower. We were outnumbered in the Revolutionary War, and the state of this country is reflecting all the proper
requirements for another revolution; rampant corruption of government by corporate lobbies, loss of the foundation that the nation was originally
built on (freedom of speech, no warrantless seizures, right to bear arms, habeas corpus, and more), a complete monopoly over many aspects of our
capitalist society, like the media and education, and an important one is the loss of our sovereignty though globalization and outsourcing, and
destruction of the borders of the nation. That is damaging our economy, and will eventually make us all wage-slaves and debt slaves to our corporate
masters. When the time comes, it will take many brave men, like the minutemen of the Revolution, to take a stand against this foe, who is the most
powerful foe that we have faced, possibly in recorded history. The police are just the tip of the iceburg.
