Easy on Copernicus my friend. There is a huge maelstrom cometh. Even the Canadians feel it. People who say thank you to the ATM. Easy on.

These police actions speak of totaly inadequete training on so many levels and when it starts to get to this point I really do think we the people need to do something. I as a Canadian will not accept these tactics and treatment of its citizens but the question is what can we legally do to stop this and not have to stoop to that level which the police seemed to have?

I am sure if everyone just got on the same page and stopped being divided on stupid issues and stick to stuff all common folk agree upon like this stuff and do the most massive demonstrations in both nations and there wouldnt be enough of them to stop us.

Once again, Liberal POV, Guilty until Proven Innocent. Media reports are biased to sensationalize a fly pooping. It is sad that the children got caught in the middle of it, but its not the police that should be held accountable, its the instigators.

Hello for the record It was not America it was in Canada. I also tend to think there might just be some exageration on the part of the Firat Nation people.

Agreed. This is equally as disturbing but on a whole different level. How in God's name can someone do this and NOT be attacked by everyone.

Agreed,.. the only reason cops / police state do this is because people don't stick up for each other any more... We have been media programed to stand down and not resist... oh that and everything the police does is right and legal..never question authority..and so on.

If that was my kid.. they would have to tazer me to death in order to peal me off him..

Did they really serve and protect anyone?

Of course they did...

...themselves.

And I'm sure we ALL know that when we hire police officers, they're lives and safety should come before ours.

Yes this is of a great concern to me, and it should be to everyone. Unfortunately, it is going to get worse before it gets better. It used to be discriminating cops who tortured and beat people they hated, whether it be hippies or a different race. Now, all over the news you hear of a death by taser from a cop, now children are being mased. When we give these people any power, they go crazy with it. I dont know if a majority of cops are good or bad, but theres enough bad ones that there needs to be something done about it. Their superiors might be the ones who make tell them that using excessive force is ok, because there is no way they are actaully scared in situations like this. There is always backup for them, they have guns and tasers and mase, and any real man would not tase an old woman in a wheelchair, even if she was brandishing a knife (I cant remember the site with the article, but an old lady was going crazy at a relative's house and had a knife, and they tased her to death). If, or when, the uprisings start happening, it will take more than just a few people who have the courage to stand up for our freedoms and what is right, because when it happens, they, being the GOV, is going to put it down swiftly and effectively, and make an example out of the dissidents, who they will call "terrorists" or "threats to national security" or something completly backward like that. But, that does not mean that we should give up and concede to them, even though they have more men and more firepower. We were outnumbered in the Revolutionary War, and the state of this country is reflecting all the proper requirements for another revolution; rampant corruption of government by corporate lobbies, loss of the foundation that the nation was originally built on (freedom of speech, no warrantless seizures, right to bear arms, habeas corpus, and more), a complete monopoly over many aspects of our capitalist society, like the media and education, and an important one is the loss of our sovereignty though globalization and outsourcing, and destruction of the borders of the nation. That is damaging our economy, and will eventually make us all wage-slaves and debt slaves to our corporate masters. When the time comes, it will take many brave men, like the minutemen of the Revolution, to take a stand against this foe, who is the most powerful foe that we have faced, possibly in recorded history. The police are just the tip of the iceburg.

Police= People like you and I in uniform thinking they have authority over you and I yet have no rules to abide by and get away with everything.

Now im not saying that there arent good cops out there...but in a sea of assholes they get lost.

Edit: Censor circumvention.

this just adds to the mountain of evidence that the rcmp is corrupt.
time to give the rcmp the boot and have something reliable take over.

I think the thread title may be a little misleading, as it probably should be "Police allegedly pepper sprays a baby in the eyes".

Although, this is too much to believe, I think the RCMP knows better than that.

Regardless of what he "used" to do when he was younger, it's obvious that riding in the back of the truck is illegal now. (reckless endangerment) I blame the parents for acting like protesting 5 yr olds against police, maybe the parents shouldn't have had their baby so close to the police while there was so much chaos. I would have taken my baby to safety because I am a responsible adult.
You can also see that he didn't have anything in his hands while he was against the truck and at 1:20 there is a woman that raised her hand at a guy next the black truck as if she were going to punch him.

Yes i guess it would have to allegedly on the "legality" front. However, we can see that the baby was not allegedly rubbing his eyes and allegedly crying.

I completely understand your point and it's always innocent till proven guilty. But again, I guess the video speaks a million words.

Nothing is going to change until those pigs are dealt with. This is what I mean: It is VERY easy, especially in rural areas, to find out where cops live. Then, an operation is mounted to either kidnap and ' talk ' to these filthy dogs, then release them, or if they are guilty of institutional murder, they could receive a ' citizens trial ' and get their punishment right on the spot. Other pigs would take notice immediately, and alter their nefarious actions accordingly.

Cops are ONLY afraid of " RETALIATION and MONEY. If you can sue them personally, not the insurance company that covers their employers, and ruin them, that works. Also, guerrilla attacks that send a message also work well. If the cops knew that if they abused a citizen that retaliation wqas DEFINITE, they would think twice before abusing us.

If that had been my baby, I would be setting up a hit right now on the scum that did it; The best way of all would be to just DISAPPEAR a few cops: If they are never found, and the message was sent that there was plenty of space for more where they went to, we would see cops sing a different tune every day. Otherwise, they will continue to abuse us and kill us and pepper spray BABIES.

Reading things like this make me want to do some very antisocial things to some cops; unless the PEOPLE take notice and start to give it back to them, we will see more and more abuses and more civilian murders by cops, and the victims will have no recourse. Cops stick together, and so must we. Cops break the law to abuse us, and so must we. Tit for tat, an eye for an eye: If a cop kills one of us without cause, even the score.

No other way works with cops: They think that they are our masters and bosses and that we are nothing but warm ( or cold ) bodies to them, so why should we not give back the same attitude? If a few cops started disappearing, forever, never heard from again, the other cops would take notice, and fast. It would make them think hard: Is it worth it to abuse a civilian when you may be gone forever?

This nation needs a paramilitary type secret group , well trained and dedicated, to counter police abuse by giving DIRECT ACTION and street justice to those filthy pigs who go past the limits of their authority. NOTHING else will do any good: Cops do not fear anything but force, and loss of money. If they are not fired and arrested and charged after they violate us, then let the boys in black disappear them. The rest would get polite real fast. Of course the cops would go nuts trying to find the Avengers, but think of how effective a campaign would be that targeted cops directly: It would work where all other avenues fail.

Sound crazy? maybe. but how crazy is it when filthy cops tag a BABY with Mace, break a schoolgirls wrist for dropping cake ( LA ), or outright murder 93 year old old ladies ( Atlanta ). It is going to come to a p[oint in this nation where we are either going to become chattel and slaves for the cops, or we are going to fight back and teach them who is the real boss.

Disgusting, these cops are. But you know, authority always wins. This just shows all the world authority cannot be trusted to some delegated to handle it.

Demand resignations, but be careful about the us/them mind frame with police. If everything slides into the abyss, we will need police to refuse orders.

Speak to your police friends so they understand they can refuse unlawful orders when the time comes, and fire that officer, he could have done many things besides tear gassing the crowd.

On a side note, I guess that idea of running to Canada when things hit the fan in the US is out the window.

Do NOT count on cops coming over to our side. No way. their PAYCHECKS come from the people who give them orders, and they will carry out those orders. it IS us or them, and has been for a long time. It is like the military, they are trained to OBEY orders no matter what.Cops will only refuse an order if it totally is a betrayal to their consciences, and lets face it, how many cops have much conscience anyway? they lie without qualms all day long to us, ask us to give up our rights routinely, abuse arrestees and citizens alike; what are the odds the cops are going to break ranks with their pals and side with us?

I believe that the local cops will be used to try and convince the populations to go along with the new restrictive measures soon to be in place; after all, we know them, right? but if tit comes to tat, the cops will line up and do whatever the chief tells them to do, even if it means firing on crowds. Look all over the world, right now there are people being shot by some police forces somewhere, Burma, wherever. It is not such a stretch to believe that in case of wide spread discontent and riots or marches that the cops here will do the same thing; look at the pigs in Miami who abused the people a few years ago.

If there is a LAWthe the cops have all of the justification they need to do whatever they want. Thats what they alwsy say: " its the law ". Well, if Bush passes another law, or issues another edict or decree like he has already done, that tells the cops to disarm us all and place us in camps for our ' own protection ' then the local cops will NO DOUBT cooperate with them and we will be gone. Never trust a cop, never. They see themselves as apart from us already, and it will only INCREASE when the crap hits the fan.

the only good thing is that we outnumber them, and if armed we can keep our areas free and safe for us IF we are determined and coordinated. Any other way means we lose.

If you are right, then I suggest we spend our time now talking to them and letting them know some of the things the media does not say. IF things get really bad, and I say if, then it will make a difference. If not maybe their knowledge will push back against those who would want to try something bad.

In any group some will always stand, the whole question is how many. There is a point in time, when things go to far, when everyone will say money is no longer worth what they ask. For everyone that is different. But I can say this, most are good people, including police.

So yes there are problems, lets get them out of power now, but lets also educate others so if push comes to shove they may stand.

And by the way, when the Kremlin asked the Russian army to break up Boris Yeltsin denial of the communist hardliners to take control, the army refused.

In China at Tiananmen square the Army followed orders.
