Ambient, Downtempo, Trip Hop and Chillout

Hey you all, I noticed nobody started a thread on these genres yet. Laid back, relaxing, electronica influenced music, something to listen to at the after party, when coming down and unwinding.

So post your favourite tracks, albums, groups, artists, music vids and what-nots, so that we may share the calming tunes together. If you don't have a vid link, it's all good.. just post the names.. I'll look into it and sample it.

Hey anyone have any good album recommendations for these sort of music?

hey there just saw the thread as i dont come here often but if your after albums try anything by the Thievery Corporation they made some groundbreaking albums in the 90s

Real Name: Rob Garza & Eric Hilton

Rob Garza and Eric Hilton met at Eighteenth Street Lounge in May 1995. They were introduced by a mutual friend and proceeded to discuss their admiration for the work of Antonio Carlos Jobim and the 60's bossa sound. Weeks later, in a home studio, they began to work on the music that would launch Thievery Corporation. After several early 12" singles, Thievery Corporation released Sounds From the Thievery Hi-Fi on ESL Music. That record is already considered by most to be a classic of the new electronic era.

Worth looking for are the Producer, Logical Progression, Points in time and the progression session compilations.


So that should keep you busy for at least 3months

How about IDM and EBM?
