Hi scepticsRus
Didn't imply you modified the picture, actually I was talking about the "lake" pic by someone else. Thanks for posting the new link, I see the cream colored squares on the new link you posted. Interesting. Question is why?
Came across an interesting interview yesterday.
Interview with geologist Elaine Bickle
Some ways down the page after the Moon. Based on her "theory", wouldn't be surprising to find artifacts at all...

I'm trying to find an article that I've seen a while back about the "true colors" of Mars. There was something odd from a picture that showed the rover and a sky/terrain shot on Mars, and another picture of one of the rovers in the assembly plant. Cable color was bright yellow in the assembly plant, yet on the "near true color" image from Mars, the rover cable appeared dark orange. And when you adjusted the "near true color" from the NASA pic to auto level in Photoshop, sky was blue, with thin streaks of clouds, and cable was bright yellow, as built and photographed from the earth lab prior to "take-off" to the red planet.
My memory ain't what it used to be, Will post it when I find it, or some pictures from JPL, unless someone remembers and posts before me

Have you found the pictures of the rover showing the cable color on Earth and Mars for comparison?
I would be very interested to see the difference.
