it infact turns out there wasnt one! Simple as.
It was completely made up by the papers. a Cairo correspondant of the daily express at the time reported there being an inscription stating "They who enter this tomb shall swiftly be visited by wings of death."
There was no such inscription anywhere in the tomb.

The nearest equivalent to it appears above a shrine dedicated to Anubis and reads " It is i who hinder the sand from choking the secret chamber. I am for the protection of the deceased."

In the run up to Carters expedition, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle had allready planted the seeds of a terrible curse in the minds of the press.
Famed writer at the time Marie Corelli even wrote about it and then when Carters patron , Lord caernavon died she claimed she had told him what would happen if he broke the seal.

Infact they were both just being affected by a superstition of curses in mummys tombs. An idea that had arrisen from a highly popular novel written years before by Jane Louden Webb.

Of the alleged 26 deaths surrounding Tutankhamuns tomb, medical records show that only 6 of these died with in the first decade. As we know Howard Carter died 17 years later.
