Glasses that detect lies

Hi all,
THis one caught my attention. I find the potential uses rather interesting, especially in the political arena. The article mentions software that can hook up to a phone (or other devices I think) that can detect lies). Imagine how useful this would have been for a reporter covering the President's address tonight? Imagine how useful it would be in every-day life. How many people are genuinely (or the opposite actually) lying to us EVERY day?
