Mars and moon pipe dream.

This is yet another magic trick by bush.

When there was a concern about air pollution and the dependence on oil. Bush made plans to bring in hydrogen fuel cell cars. The best thing was to crack down on SUV�s. That however would have pissed of a lot of people. So he promised some faraway dream that he will never have to pay for during his term.

The exact same thing is happing in the space program. He shows us a great dream for the future takes funding away from NASA. At the same time he puts funds in the plan to go to mars and the moon. When time comes to pay the real dollars it will be in the hands of another president. (probably a democrat) If the project does not deliver another president has to take the blame.

Bush promises the moon because he knows he won�t be there when time comes to pay.
He looks like a friend to science and stops getting complaints from NASA for all the cutbacks because they get to go to mars. In the end the tax payers get the bill for a plan that may or may not work. At that time Bush will be working for a organization that he used his power (oil?). In a very cushy job.

Mars is a distraction from Bush�s other faults.

If you want to Bash the President ATS has setup a section for Political thoughts and this would fit nicely there.

Political attacks aside, what this means for us in finding New technologies, perhaps new metals, and a better understanding of a close planet we hope will tell us more about the creation of the universe.

Space 2015 is about SPACE and the technologies, telescopes, etc.
