In a recent onslaught against the Kosovo Albanians, the Serbian authorities have gone over from strong albeit diplomatic statements to threats.

If Kosovo declares independence unilaterally, Belgrade will take extreme measures - seal the borders, impose a trade embargo and return its troops to the province to restore Serbia's territorial integrity.

If this happens, this could cause more problems between Russia and the West. Our relationship with Russia has diminished dramatically over the past decade and will continue to fail if events like this occur. I guess we will find out what happens on December 10.

Let me put Kosovo in perspective for this American audience.

Let's see... like Albanian Muslims, Mexican nationals have slowly
moved in to occupy the American Southwest... if American leaders
do actually stand up and do something to take back US territory
from the massive Mexican demographic army, they might be accused
of "ethnic cleansing"... then there might be an international outcry
about American violation of Mexican civil rights, ethnic cleansing,
war crimes, etc... then a UN army [with Russian and Chinese soldiers]
with the help of the Mexican Liberation Army, bombs, invades and
occupies the American Southwest to make sure Mexicans are protected.
Then the Anglo-American residents are brutalized and forced from their
homeland by the Mexicans while the UN forces do nothing to stop it.
Then Russia and China move in the UN to declare the American Southwest
an independent Mexican state.


How would Americans feel ?

How would you feel if all these Mexicans were MUSLIM ?!

NOW you are a Serb !

BELGRADE, Serbia: Serbia stepped up an anti-U.S. campaign Wednesday, accusing it of wanting to create a "satellite state" out of the breakaway province of Kosovo.

Samardzic was joined Wednesday by the head of the influential Serbian Orthodox Church in Kosovo who said Serbia should never give up the province at any price, even if it takes "2,000 years" of isolation.

"They (the West) are offering us membership in the European Union," Bishop Artemije said. "What good would that do without our national identity," which would be lost with Kosovo's independence, he added.

Not at all, but maybe a brief overview of some of the reasons for continued agrivation (IE Yugoslavia wanted nothing to do with the WTO, NATO, or the EU)

In any event, i think both of us agree the the destruction brought to Yugoslavia was disgusting and an attempt to enforce austerity in a country that was originally bound to the will of the people.

This has the potential blow up literally in our face. I hope the powers that be realize we have no need to mess with this. The same idiots we're fighting in the Middle East supported the KLA and the Bosnians. We should have never intervened in Yugoslavia. In my opinion that was worse than what's happened in Iraq.

Putin will not idly stand by either like Yeltsin.

At some point the West and Russia need to sit down and realize were fighting the same enemy whether its in Chechnya, the Balkans, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Philippines, Somalia, and Kashmir. The faster we come together to combat our common enemies the faster the war ends. All of us need to quit playing games and work together.

to support an independent Muslim Kosovo... go back and
read my glib post... would you want to come together with
those who continue to try to make the American Southwest
an independent Mexican state ?

Thats my point. America shouldnt be supporting an Independent Kosovo. Through our blundering were going to end up creating a haven for terrorists in Europe. Historians one day will look back at the fall of Yugoslavia as one of the stupidest things NATO has ever done.
