The number of troops in Iraq are going to increase from the all time high level of 168,000 to 172,000!

Troop Levels at all time high in Iraq!

At the same time Petraeus is seeing gains, but is reluctant to reduce troop levels. Bottom line Iraq is a fragile house of cards that could come crumbling down if we don't keep troop levels or even increase.

Petraeus reluctant to reduce troop levels!

This leads me to why President Bush will push to keep troop levels in Iraq and maybe even increase them when he address the nation this coming week.

Bush to speak to Nation on Iraq!

This war is like a catch-22 situation - withdraw and lose influence in the region, escalate and end up in a never ending quagmire! There looks to be no end in sight until the elections in 2008.

The US rants and raves is getting so old news.

Canada is such a larger country too. How can such a tiny country (America) be such a mouth piece in the world?

There is no more sympathy for America.

Everybody is too busy screaming Wolf! Wolf! Wolf! and milking for sympathy.

it looks clear that bush is going to keep as many troops in the war as long as he hold's rank,i always wonder if the troops over there really know whats going on here in the U.S.

if they know just how many americans want them home,or do you suppose they get their media, mail and every other outlet of information censored?

i just hope the day they do get home...they realize and appreciate all the people that were trying to get them back home years ago.

If America was truly in danger of the terrorists in the long term then why don't we have a draft? They are saying the surge is working in the places that it's happen so why not finish the fight through a draft? Why not get millions of soldiers in there and just do it right?

hmm, don't you think this extra surge for the troops is not somehow connected to the planned attack on Iran?
