Major security breach at APEC summit

www.news.com.au

The team from the satirical TV program The Chaser's War on Everything were in a convoy of three cars and two motorbikes which was reportedly ushered through two checkpoints in Sydney's APEC security "red'' zone.
Among those charged under new APEC legislation was Chaser Chas Licciardello, who dressed as Osama bin Laden.

LOL, LOL and more LOL. No doubt many of you, even if you don't live in Australia, have encountered the Chasers crew. They're the ones that made that kinda-infamous video of Americans pointing at places on mis-labelled maps. "I didn't realize North Korea was so big!"

This is an awesome prank. The 'security' around the APEC complex has been taken very seriosuly. They have locked down the largest city in this country, built metal barriers that cut straight though its middle, the police have been given unprecidented, very controversial rights, and tommorow has been declared a city-wide public holiday to keep the congestion down.

But yet, a few cars with a flag stuck on the bonnet and a guy dressed as Bin Laden in the back make it through two security checkpoints and to the hotel Bush is staying at?

He said the Chaser convoy had Canadian flags attached to the cars and "Canada'' signs visible in the front windscreen. "No particular reason we chose Canada,'' Taylor said.
"We just thought they'd be a country who the cops wouldn't scrutinise too closely, and who feasibly would only have three cars in their motorcade - as opposed to the 20 or so gas guzzlers that Bush has brought with him.''

Somehow they got the video tapes back out, so I'm looking forward to the show next Wednesday. I hope the fact that most of the crew have been arrested and will only be granted limited bail for court appearances won't effect things too much.

For anyone who doesn't know what these guys are about, the chasers website is at Chasers Website

From there they have videos - some coarse language mind you. But there is one there now, taking the mick out of apec security, bot the event of today but still rather funny..

They do a mix of real and obvious setups.. but still worth a look if you're unfamiliar with them..
