American Psychological Association Sanctions Torture

below is an article describing why a prominent member of the American Psychological Association has returned the award that they gave and withdrawn their membership, due to that associations support of psychologists advising on methods of torture in Guantanamo, etc

Thanks for posting this link. I know I must have heard about psychologists participating in and aiding and abetting the torture, but it is one of those things I have just blocked out of my mind because it is too horrible to realise that US American psychologists by and large approve of the torture methods of the Bush Administration.

My hope is that the return of the award and the resignation from the APA of such a high profile member will urge others on to separate themselves from the APA and to anathematise the diabolical position of endorsing and promoting torture methods currently embraced by the APA.
