I know im probably really late for this. but. Who is WITD that everyone is talking about??

An interesting question with no good answer. Use the "search" function and do some reading. There are a ton of posts on this. It just recently died down, and is a very tender subject.

There are several opinions as to WITD's identity, however, I think that it's best left alone.

He was a seemingly non-distructive pranking hacker who posted in cryptic riddles regarding current events. He also used a publicized back-door in XMB code to alter one of his posts to make it appear as though he had fore-knowledge of a terrorist attack. It also appears as though he was able to query the database and read private messages and moderator-only forums. We prefer to limit discussion of this person because we have a no-tolerance policy toward hacking, and the discussion of him and the content his posts tends to lend credibility to the actions of a hacker.
