The grim rippers?

When I was a little kid, about 4 years old I went with my sister to a local church and saw two grim reaper characters dressed in red, they were still and I couldn't see their face, it was like they had no face at all. They were there for a sec and then when I asked my sister to look they weren't there anymore.. My mother even remembers me telling her about it, so many years have passed that I'm even in denial for a while now. They didn't belong to the church, they were still like statues and even holding that weird blade, I know this is hard to believe, I wouldn't believe it much myself if I didn't see it..
Does anyone know what's the meaning behind this? if it even has any..

I don't think they took notice of me, they weren't moving at all.

Normally a grim reaper is protrayed as a skeleton in long black robes with a scythe. This is the first time I've heard of one wearing red.

well just to correct this before you get to far without a sound answer the things you saw were angels nothing more if you saw them they were you guardians most likely but i mean here are always other reasons for this but most popular appearances are done by guardians
