What does your screen name mean/how'd you come up with it?

Well i live in the Sth Hemisphere & i am always looking up at the stars .. wondering whats up there & always wishing that i could travel into space just looks so peaceful up there

Chose the nick 'NotOnMyWatch' simply to reflect my attitude of being alert to what is going on around me. It just pi$$ed me off how the gubbermint is trying to sneak things past us! I cannot believe *they* are trying that, AND seemingly getting away with it! grrrrrr. If we are at least alert am hoping we won't get caught off guard again. Far too many people in America and elsewhere are blind to the truths that are right in front of their noses. Just trying to keep an open mind, open eyes, and help others do the same.

one day a few years ago i decided i needed a new name for playing counter-strike under i couldn't think of anything so i bashed the keyboard randomly and ivzm came out....since that day i use it for more or less anything on the web

My screen name is my Renaissance Faire Charachter- Cuhail McMurphy (Pictured in my avatar is me, in garb, at Faire).

"Cuhail" (cool) is my tribute to Fionn MacCumhail (Finn McCool), an old legend of Irish Mythology and rumored to be a giant. "Mc" means "son of" or "decended from" and "Murphy" is my REAL nickname since I was three days old.
Hence- Cuhail McMurphy or Cuhail, decended from Murphy.

Oddly enough (or not, my family is VERY Irish), my real-life niece is named Niamh (nee-iv) after Fionn MacCumhail's Son's wife.

So, that's why I'm Cuhail...because I'm cool.

My name is the name I use on everything online, sometimes with a UK suffix.

Basically,I was reading a history book when I was at school when I happened on the 'Shortest War in History'. Britain shelled Zanzibar for 45ish minutes, in which time Zanzibar surrendered. Thinking it was a cool sounding name and that it had some meaning behind it, I started using it.

Unfortunately, a few short months after I started using it, Halo 2 came out and now alot of people think I got it from there, which of course, I didn't.

One day I'm going to visit Zanzibar. Can't wait.

Nice thread! I'm always curious about why people chose their names.

I was 16 and wanted an intimidating name for when I played online games (starting with Descent), so I came up with Kruel - I used a K instead of a C simply for uniqueness.

I'm really quite harmless though... mostly.

It's based on a state of dreaming, but being awake at the same time, kinda close to day dreaming but more lucid. I find my most creative side and catharsis when not just fully in one conciousness at a time. The movie Waking Life is a good example.

My name is a combination.

What it means to me is a poor man's James Bond and also from the sticky goop bondo because I tend to leave a lasting impression (so, I've noticed on other boards). Believe me, it's not always a good one either. Kinda like a piece of old gum stuck to your shoe.

Wow, I feel kind of weird giving it up even though the James Bond part is easily figured. Anyone else feel that way?

Well, as many have noticed from my avatar, my name is from a really cool star picture. It is part of an explosion that took place roughly 14,000 years ago. As a native American, this is about the time frame when my ancestors came to this part of the world, and I find it ties in nicely.

Also, since it is the Pencil Nebula, and I enjoy writing, there's another tie in.

My name was the most important lion headed goddess of Egypt (Sekhmet) tho spelled slightly wrong but its all good cause Im male! and apart from that I didnt know how to spell it at the time! First I liked the sound of the name, and I feel a strong feminine energy in me and life.. then I liked the sound of her, and besides, Im a leo so it all made sense Im born under her in egypts signs.. as I found out later.

I couldn't think of a name so I just opened the dictionary up to a random page, closed my eyes and pointed to a word and that's the username I've been using for a couple years now, haha. It means a tingling sensation or somethin' like that.

to be original in naming him.

There is a piece of agriculture equ-
ipment called a Combine.
Manufactured by Lexion.

My Rogue became Lexion Combine.

Been using Lexion ever since.
