I am a paranormal Investigator, EVP Specialist and technician and have studied EVP(electronics voice phenomena ) for over 10 years now.
A lot of people are reluctant to try their own hand at EVP, thinking that lack of knowledge of recording and computer processing technique will be too much for them.

Not necessarily true...most people with an honest desire and effort can accomplish contact with the spirit world through the use of a simple and in-expensive digital recorder, and the more time and effort put into it, the better the results.

For instance, I have had hundreds of extraordinary personal contacts (including talking with my Dad who died in 1997), and even carried on a dialogue with a spirit for seven years who said she knew me in a previous life. I have personally recorded tens of thousands of EVP messages since 1998 ( I record almost every day)

Here is a video of an encounter aboard a WWII submarine in which I recorded several dozen voices talking to me and my wife Mary.

I'll be happy to answer your questions...visit Mary and I at our website www.paratexas.com...

Freaky video.
The light anomaly shown looks like someone resting on a bed with one leg raised and folded, the other laid out flat, its easier to explain with a picture so here you go....

Im guessing those EVP's were picked with equipment that at the time is not audible?
Did these EVP's happen at the same time in video as shown?

Nice work

Yes, the EVP audio was recorded at almost exzctly the time as shown in the video...the loud clanging and banging noises could be heard by me and Mary,as well as the infrared vidcam, so we used those events as time markers for the EVP (which we recorded separately with a digital recorder that also recorded those banging noises.)

The vidcam also will occasionally record EVP as well, although not very often.

The ship was very noisy that night although the park was closed, the gates locked, and Mary and I were the only ones in the darkened ship. It was creepy, and we were convinced the ship was haunted before we even heard the recordings (just from all the unexplained noises that night !)

Yeah I'm not sure why but alot of ships are haunted. I had a friend in teh Navy that had to guard I think a it was like a drydock full of ships and anyway he said it was the creepiest thing he has ever done.

That was really: "OMG, I'd be scared as hell!".
Do you have more videos like this one? I'd love to see it

Now I was thinking about doing this in a old Slavery mansion located in my grandma's farm. I bet it would be pretty scary

I investigated an old slavery plantation in Georgia about a year ago. It was definetely very haunted and I got great EVP communication with the spirits there. It was filmed for a TV pilot and may come up on TV in the future, but right now there is a lot of haggling over contracts...so I'm not sure when.

You should try your grandma's place...talk to them personally just as they were live people...I'll bet you get a lot of activity !!

I have a few more videos on my website www.paratexas.com...

Interesting. I did a quick search looking at the history of the submarine and can't quite work out why it would be haunted. I am not trying to disprove your work but I am intrigues as the ship as far as I have read, didn't have any fatalaties onboard?

Actually, I have found it common that a "reason" for haunting is not apparent...remember, probably almost every soul that served on that ship in WWII is now dead and many throughout their lives probably attached great significance to having served there as well as a kinship with fellow shipmates.

As a comparison, I have found every museum I have ever walked into to be full of spirits who are attached to the theme of objects displayed.

The spirit world is really quite complex...I don't have all the answers but It's fun using EVP to try and get them ! regards RICH

Is this the same sub that was investigated by Ghosthunters/Taps? I know that they were unable to capture much but had several personal experiences. The stories about the sub, and some of the stories behind the haunting are incredible, especially the one about the woman. I personally know how hard it is to capture evidence on film, especially when you know its there, and then the whole situation of people trying to debunk all your evidence, its can be excaberating! Thanks for posting this!

Also, how long were you there, or otherwise how long did it take you before you were able to capture evidence that night, and was this your first time there?

We were there twice, once at opening on a week day when there wasn't much tourist traffic, and again when I talked the property caretaker into letting us in at night after closing (he is a retired Navy Chief). We were ther 5 or 6 hours that night till about 3 am.

I received EVP messages every time I turned on the recorder that night, for a total of probably 40 or 50, some of which were weak and difficult to understand.

I didn't see the Ghost Hunters episode on a sub, but I don't think this is the one they went to. There is also another ship, a Destroyer Escort, sitting right next to this sub...we also received EVP about "Frank" on that ship as well....Rich

Didn't happen to be Barnsley, did it? I've been waiting for some one to do a film about it....beautiful setting, sad story, a few ghostly sightings.

to address a comment in the OP, i personally don't do EVP work even though i find it fascinating. i've heard stories about entities latching on and keeping you company for a while. i'm not sure i'm ready for that yet. it has been said that you never know what's coming through. do you have any thoughts or counter-points on that?

Yes, any diligent and continuous pursuit of the paranormal can bring forth experiences that may be difficult to understand and deal with for the uninitiated.

My experience with EVP indicates that it can bring you to the attention of spirits in the astral realm, some good, some bad, and some confused. Some of them are not accepting their return to spirit form and will obsess with the opportunity to use you as a link to their previous world. This may not be good for them spiritually.

My wife and I experience regular apparitions and claireaudient events due, we believe, to our EVP studies bringing us to a stronger psychic awareness . We are experienced and knowledgable of methods to manage these situations.

I have not known anyone to be hurt (not yet anyway) from EVP communications but caution is advised...it may not be for everyone.

Ah.....I've heard the name. Barnsley has been rumored to be the inspiration for Margret Mitchell when she wrote "Gone With The Wind"......

I've been wanting to try EVP recording in an old house we're trying to restore, but as an0maly33 mentioned, I have some reservations about what might happen. We had a seance in this same house years ago, accompanied by slaming doors and one girl passing out......

interesting...many times I have seen paranormal episodes to accelerate when the owner attempts to change or remodel an old building. Rich

We've not really seen anything odd since the work started.......that seance activity was actually over 20 years ago.

None of the contractors mentioned anything out of the ordinary, but I did not tell them about the previous 'activity', thinking that they might not want to know......and I sure didn't want to 'scare them off' !

We did have a floor collapse, but we can pretty well attribute that to moving too much weight onto joists with dry rot .
