I take it that these, are no way as good as normally we associate with cruise missiles.

`entropy` can you post more in your thread than just a link to another website.

and a cruise missile is a cruise missile - flys NAPE , delivers its warhead to the target, the Hatf-8 is supposed to eb a stealth type so makes interesting news

This is exactly why i have lurked here for a while. Seems a lot of members are a little touchy for if "that period should have been an exclamation, etc."
Fine, I'll state the obvious:
Considering the instability of Pakistan this can not be good news to Pakistan's neighbors. However this story ends, it's not going to be in a good way.
UPDATED INFO FROM THE BBC:
SOURCE
Pakistan is claiming the weapon can carry any type of warhead in it's arsenal and be launched from land, air or sea.
Let's hope the cradle of stability isn't rocked any harder.

i don`t give a monkeys about it - the mods on the other hand do and happily slap `dont do that, read the t and c` in big letters.

sorry, i came across a little sharp.

as i said in another thread - , its a case of `so what? pakistan allready have a nuclear capable cruise missile - the Babur. which is surface launched (this is air launched)

Its all the same!
They have only one 'indigenous' cruise-missile that 'can' be launched from air, land and sea.

Frankly I don't think its been launched on anything more militarily viable than a TEL.

Apparantly the test on July 26 2007 - was reported to have test launched a Babur from one of the 5 Agosta 90-b class SSK`s in service.

Yes I got Wikipedia as the source on that date for the test.
I checked the linked source within the wiki and it took me to a pakistani discussion forum thread that had posters saying that the Agostas had the babur capability. Surprisingly the last post was dated in 2006!
So even if there were any external links in that forum, they would be dated before 07!

Other sources also show pictures of an older test; but no videos of the missile launched from a sub(something I'm sure they'd want to publicise!)

So I'm still perplexed about this July 26th 07 test!

The sub type is more than capable of launching the missile (and now has AIP as well) - quite a capable system.
