Families Say Miners Being Left for Dead

www.foxnews.com

Officials said six trapped coal miners may never be found, outraging family members of the men who say their loved ones are being left for dead.
Family members of the six miners trapped in the initial Aug. 6 collapse accused the mine's owners and federal officials of abandoning their loved ones.

IMO, that's just plain goddamn rude. 3 rescue workers sacrificed their lives for those trapped miners, and the families are saying that the miners are being left for dead? That they were abandoned? Jeez, well I wonder how these families feel about Chinese mines, where 13 people die everyday on average?
I know I know, they are feelings distressed and distraught and I shoudn't have a go at them, but it's like they are disregarding the loss of an additional 3 lives.

It is a damned if you do and a damned if you don't situition. But they are still trying to drill in which is something. But after 2 weeks the odds get slimmer and slimmer that anyone will be found alive and then what do you do? risk more lives just to get the bodies?

Denial isn't a river in Egypt.

I agree these people are being selfish. There's practically no chance that these men are still alive, and it would foolish and unethical to send in more men to risk their lives after 3 rescuers have already died.

If I was them, I'd just be praying that they died quickly in the initial collapse.

As always people are looking for someone to blame so they can get rich and I bet my butt that's exactly where this is headed.
While I understand the grief these people are going through they knew that these men weren't going to be found alive. At this point dehydration would have set it.

We just suffered the Mpls bridge collapse here and while some families are still waiting word they aren't blaming anyone. They know there loved ones are gone and our search efforts have all but been abandoned. They understand and accept it's a recovery effort not a rescue at this point.
