Surface-to-air missile dumped at US gun amnesty

news.bbc.co.uk

A man in Florida surprised police by handing in a surface-to-air missile launcher during a gun amnesty in the city of Orlando.

Under the no-questions-asked scheme, "Kicks for Guns", anyone who surrendered a firearm would receive trainers or $50 (£25).

He told the newspaper he found the 4ft (1.2m) weapon in a shed last week.

How would someone even get a hold of something like this. I mean, if it was from someone in the army or whatever who 'could' get access of one of these... they wouldn't leave it in a shed.

Seems a bit suspect to me..

Lol!No i dont think even army surplus stores provide ground to air missiles."Just"finding one in a shed is highly unlikely inho.

Is it just a launcher? Those would be fairly easy to come by, if you knew the right folks.. The missiles, on the other hand, would not. It doesn't specify in the article.

WW2 fans in the UK and elsewhere have reconditioned tanks, rocket launchers and stuff, which are all quite legal, just as long as they are "put beyond use" and you don't have ammo with them.

let me venture a guess here...........

the ?stinger? launch tube, in all probabilty is a Planted item....

for the purpose of misinforming/misleading the public
by having the public imagine there's many 'Cells' out there with weapons in their possession...and this discovery is sure-fire-true Evidence!

gawd, the games & lies & deceit being practiced....
unless i'm 100% incorrect,

It will have a serial number on it somewhere. It can/will be tracked fairly quick to see where it came from.

If it's just a launch tube, you can buy those at most army surplus stores that have a working Army or Marine military post or base nearby. These are fairly neat souvenirs just like a 105mm brass shell casing.

Personally, I think certified militias, and by certified I mean national guard or old known militias which are made of sane members, should have some of these in a storage place somewhere in case the government turns against the population or that the US is invaded.

If you don't have any anti-air guns, how a resistance could take out F-22/spy drone bombing resistance hideouts?

I mean, militias are the last line of defense... if they don't have any decent military equipment, how will they fight?
