And, of course, because a republican is in office.

No, if it was a Dem I'd still be angry about this but, it isn't. It never is. Its always the usual suspect... a repugnant. You can't trust repugnants with your money.

Ok, ok, stop it! I was not even reffering to Bush's ideas. I was talking the space program in general. Why is it a waste of money? We're just one insignificant speck in all of infinity. We could discover so much! Was it wrong for the Europeans to go to America? Was it wrong for Columbus to try to discover something new! This is beyond politics, guys. Though unfortunatly, politics is in it's way. I wouldn't care who proposed it! If Stalin or Hitler proposed it I'd back them! Even Ted Kennedy! Who cares who proposes it, that's not the point! The point is to discover something unknown. I'm sure people laughed and scoffed at Columbus, but I'm also sure that they were the ones who were being laughed at when people found out how wrong they were.

Colonel, so the space program is a lie? What are you siffing? It was just a ruse to tear attention away for O'Neil? Though his aides said he was going to talk about it two weeks ago! It was already scheduled! Do you even pay attention, Colonel?

The repugnants knew that O'Neil was gonna expose them 2 weeks ago.

Bull#, prove it. You can't, can you? I heard a leak about the possibility for a renewed space program even before the new year.

Anyway, you're dodging my question. Is it a worthy investment for the future? Should we explore space or sit here eating bugs and throwing feces at each other for the rest of our existance? Like I said, I wouldn't care who proposed it.

Lol read the rest of the thread. I've been banging my head against that brick wall this entire time. As long as Bush is in power, the space program is a bad idea. As soon as a democrap gets into office, the space program will be a good idea. You see, the republicans only fund things to oppress and pull the wool over people's heads. Democraps only fund things for the better of people.

JJ, That's the way it works in the minds of extremists. They don't even look at the idea, just who proposes it. Hell, I'd support it if Dean proposed it! But that doesn't make me a Dean supporter, does it?

The thing about it is, we are only digging ourselves a deeper and deeper hole in debt. They have went well beyond deficit spending right into "what the hell were you thinking" spending or even "I'm wish my bank allowed to do this type of spending" spending. Ideally this would be a good idea, but I cannot support this type of spending right now to our huge deficits. (be it Republican or Democrat)

I'm agreeing with you on that part OX. I've said it before, we need a tax-slashing spending-cutting president, not a tax-slashing spending-like-a-drunken sailor president, or a tax hiking spend hiking president.

BUT, I do believe we should still spend on the space program. It should be high priority.

This was my point entirely. So,logically, this is a ruse against the O'Neil revalation b/c there is no money to do a spae program.

I am in support of space exploration for the sake of discovery, however, I do not want to see humans flocking to inhabit another planet. In my opinion, we ultimately need to stay grounded here on Earth.

perhaps this is a great! time to reintroduce my equation: some of you are familiar with it and i am definatly going to take some heat but here it goes....its a totally proven proportion. Colonel, this equation will prove with MATH that you have a less proportionate IQ than my Dog...her name is Lovely and she is a German Shephard.

Your side of equation

take the maximum number of years and diplomas you have and set them in proportion to the ones you have recived...ie:

Recieved= R1
Maximum amount ie college, grad school= M1

now my dog has gone to pet smart and has recieved 4 "diplomas" in traiing...she is less than 4 years old, making her roughly 26.4 years old, that would put her in the perspective of A phD with a bunch of credits above that.
her side = 1 ....hence R2
---- ex. arbitrary number
M2

= you......hence R1
----- < 1
M1
my dog has you beat by a random number equal to one.... therefore proptionally... she is smarter than you

thank you and yes...the eqution IS correct becuase it uses the concrete laws of algebra....NOT OPINION!!!!
