Though I know nothing about Cayce compared to the ARE fellow, I know a bit. First, Cayce is often dismissed as being a fraud with no special talents based on the findings that sometimes he was wrong. What about the 10s of 1000s of readings he gave that were right? I think it is over 20 000. It is not unusual for someone to be wrong.
Could he see the future? Yes, I think so. That belief is possible for me because I know for sure that some people do see the future. Doubt me if you wish, but I don't desire to convince anyone of my own views. I have seen the future myself. Rarely, and precognitive dreams are different than premonitions in that precognition means the person only learns later that they saw the future when the scene unfolds. But still, my precognitive dreams were accurate and inexplicable.
Someone who never saw such a thing is likely to scoff, and I understand that. But I only share what I believe, and don't worry whether others believe me.

I agree with the fact that people see the future because:

I called a phycic and he knew I was trying to prank him. I also got Vooduued out!

Edgar Cayce was bound by the limits of what he knew to be true and honest information; therefore, much of the information that came through his readings, while of a higher vantage point on the mountain, still did not give the whole story of what is and was and did unfold, unfolds at any given point in time (time is fluid, if need be; soul growth, ya know). This is especially true in regards to the fraudulent cover-ups-for-very-human-failings-and-"frailties" cover story myth of the Old Testament Abraham as a man of God (and of his faith and total trust in his God (old Hebrew language puts forth a term Eloi or something like that encompasses both masculine and feminine aspects in one spirit form); the spirit that Abraham met up with was simply his own which reflected the level of humanity that was incorporate in the person and personality evolution of Abraham AT THAT TIME---this is why the God of the Old Testament is so brutal and bloodthirsty---His-Her minions tended to be just that type of person themselves, so this is just what was reflected back to them and what they experienced as a result of the spiritual intent they went out into the world with, i.e., you get what you give, Golden Rule, etc---Abe was a product of his culture, and times were indeed quite tough back then in the desert world---brutal, in fact. The point is, if you read the Bible itself, Abe messed up and put Sarai, his wife, up as his sister when they got to Egypt (the real promised land) out of fear because she was so beautiful that someone would kill him to take her as their own, had Pharaoh see her, desire her, and take her for wife, GET HER PREGNANT WITH ISAAC, have some calamity befall his household (we're not told what), find out what Abe had done (especially unhappy because he had paid a sizeable dowry for Sarai; and you really have to wonder about the real old people story, too, because, let's face it, 40 was ANCIENT back then, so if someone was actually in their late teens to early to mid 20s, they could still be considered quite attractive or "beautiful" even if they were rather senior- citizen status in age for the times), called him before him and reamed Abe a new one for bringing ruin onto to Pharaoh and his house, and banished the whole clan od Israelites (today's Jews, Zionistic Jews, and flat-out Zionist psychopaths) out into the desert (obviously not knowing that Sarai was carrying his bastard child and a possible heir to the throne in Egypt or at least that he/she would be part of the Egyptian "IN Crowd" from then on. The whole bloody history of this us and them vitimization thing is all sour grapes---Palestine is sour grapes for Egypt lost---it belongs to the Arabs, true, blood-descendents of Abraham (DNA tests prove this to be true), half-heritage brothers of the Jews only because Isaac and Ishmael shared the same proxy-parents, one being a biological one , Abraham and/or Sarai. This is insane. Wrong country, wrong inheiritance, wrong parents, wrong history, wrong people, wrong time, wrong history, wrong motivations and reasons and justifications and there's no reason to fight anymore because the reasons don't hold up under scientific investigations whether, detective, forensic, historical, archeological, sociological, or rational and reasonable for human nature and biology, both mental, physical, and spiritual. Go figure. Murder, rape, and mayhem---quite a legacy. Really, if we can feminize our natures without going overboard on the Big Nanny aspects of it, i.e., totalitarianism and tyranny and oppression and brutality (it's a guy thing) then we might still have a chance to avoid Armageddon though I wonder given Obama's pro-Zionist "Armageddon-Or-Bust" selections for key posts in his administration. We shall see. Obama supposedly has a college education and he was, after all, elected and hired to fill the most important managerial job in the world, so...
All the best,
farmerbob
