The Specifics

Some songs I just like really specific parts,like this Blues Brothers track.The 4 notes after "Sometimes I feel"



or this one by Bowie where the lyrics are "planet earth is blue and there's nothing I can do",then two acoustic parts with clapping followed by what sounds like a sax and lead guitar together "taking off"?



Sorry don't know the musical terms for these,does anyone have similar likings and examples,or can explain these small parts of songs,do they have a name?

Surely i can't be alone in liking these little snippets of sound.How about this one,I'll be more specific it's at 3.30 the guitar sound x 4,it sounds like a motorbike being revved

Riff or Lick. A lick is a short musical phrase that is usually played only once during a song. Many times guitar solos are nothing but a series of licks strung together.

A good example of a lick/s is the opening of Johnny B Goode

A riff is just like a lick but it tends to repeat during the song. The part Chuck is playing just before he starts singing and throughout the vocals is a riff. (The Chuck Berry riff can be heard in thousands of blues/rock songs)

Oh I have too many riffs I like to even start listing them.

I know what a riff is and have heard of a lick but don't know what that is,which part was the lick again?i don't hear anything similar to what i linked,it is right at the start?
